This thread comes back about once a year. Evidentially someone on letsrun has a real vendetta against JJ, and also thinks that the University of Tennessee;
A. Cares about their Track and Field team more than they actually do.

More recently the thread comes back about twice a year - right after Indoor SEC/NCAA and right after Outdoor SEC/NCAA.
There is a great uniqueness to Tennessee Track & Field being strong. Yes, it is "back in the day". But "back in the day" the Tennessee Men & Women were very good through every TF Event and, from that Program strength, also UT hosted tremendous Outdoor TF Meets.
Tennessee was great for the sport of TF and the sport of TF was great for Tennessee. True, they can do what ever they want with their program, but "the good old days", actually were good.

Fabulous showing at the SEC: 11th place on the men's side; 10th place on the women's side. If you combine the points from the Tennessee men and women together, however, and then use those total points to the men's team race, they would come in 7th, and if you apply those points to the women's team race, they would come in 8th.

and if you subtract 6 from the men's race with this calculation, Tennessee won! Vols won! Vols SEC champs! I knew they could do it!
When you steal money from the program like Watts, you get fired. And there is a reason you always got beat by EMU if you think Watts is some great coach or pillar of the program.
If you actually think Watts has any clue what he is doing you know nothing about running. Besides, when you steal money from a team you get fired.

It's crazy that they were 3rd in the country during indoor season... it's almost like they made the right decision. The Tennessee Volunteers stock is rising. BAS and her staff have some great athletes!
