If you take the 1500meter conversions into consideration Scott has around 200 sub 4 minute miles to his credit.
Comparing Scott to Ryun is too close to call.
It is amazing that Ryun who ran his 3:51 before the first moon landing is faster than any American miler today. It is truly pathetic that no American has run a 3:50 mile in the last five years. The farm team is only training American's to qualify for national and olympic trial meets. They are not training anyone to run under 3:55 for the mile. US milers are obviously getting poor training. Scott and Ryun did not need a farm team.
