So what's the word on transfers?? Ulrey to Arkansas?? He'd be retarded not to go
Why would Ulrey be retarded not to leave. He's got two years left and has had a lot of success at UNI.
There won't be money at Arkansas this year, so he'd go about $30K in debt if he transferred right now, assuming they opened up a full ride for him the next year.
But if he waits a year, he'd only have one left & isn't there that SEC transfer rule? Of course, he could "redshirt" @ UNI & then transfer---that'd be class! But wait, what about academics?
It would seem "retarded" not to go based on the level of success he has seen with Bucknam already...The ability to go to theoretical "Powerhouse" Arkansas, and follow his coach who has done an outstanding job with him so far. Not to mention, can you say 'training partners'?? Who knows who the next mid/distance coach at UNI will be!! He should at least look into it...Bucknam surely wants him to come down

Not bashing on Woody, but don't give him the credit. Hairston was a BEAST waiting to be unleashed from a bad coach in high school. He had 48 speed in HS and only went 1:56 open....something was bound to happen. He hasn't improved since his breakout freshman year.
Good morning to you too Mr. Stout, its your buddy Mr. Hairston. And here I am thinking I'd be able to read my lets run in peace at my snoozefest of a job.
To correct you, I was far from 48 speed in high school and have only started running consistent 48 splits this year. And, I have improved. Just because I had a disappointing outdoor season doesnt mean I didnt improve because I learned a lot bout my running and training.
I dont know who's "trolling" this thread but they're right. I honestly believe Woody is taking our program in a new direction and it cant, and won't, happen overnight.
Finally, I dont want to make this terribly personal Mike, but weren't you a Hawkeye before jumping ship to UNI? Dont you sport a tiger hawk on your right leg? So where do you come off calling a school and team that you loved so dearly as to plead with me to come here pathetic?
Damn homey, in high school you wuz the man homey.
This guy is a good coach but he is no JM, UNI has not been a top program at any point.

But bucky and arkansas kept the AARP coach on the staff with the hair piece to keep it going strong.
Case will not go to Arkansas....his wife owns a huge furniture store in Cedar Falls and makes B.A.N.K. He doesn't have to work if he doesn't want to, and has no intentions of ever being a head coach. He plays his ole' guitar in local clubs and lives it up. I believe he's quite content to stay with Gep and continue to build the program.
Ulrey will x-fer. Mulder and Reid (only outdoor eligable) will both stay put as the SEC does not accept senior transfers.
UNI will be top 10 in the nation again next year.
Must be UNI team member w/ that kind of spelling. If Case stays, he should be in charge. If he does go to ARK, he'll do some damage there. On the plus side, those two in ARK can only help Obama carry Iowa! But it'll be wishful thinking that UNI is top 10 again if Ulrey does transfer- recruits can't pull off what he has already done.
Wasn't it already announced that Case is moving to Arkansas with him?
"Announced" on a message board doesn't make it so! But it would seem rather silly to stay as an asst w/ a real chance to be part of a national title. I've got a lot of respect for whats been accomnplished @ UNI but they're NOT bring home any national trophies with their budget.
