Why did Germany go to war ?

WWII was a war of ideologies, as all meaningful wars are. It was democracy or fascism, and the issue was forced by the fascists in both Germany and Japan. What did the U.S. do when they won the war? We gave them their countries back, and helped them to rebuild. Germany and Japan would not have been so kind. The U.S. ideology of democracy is preferred by all most all and is superior to German and Japanese fascism. That is why we fought, and that is why a win at all costs attitude was acceptable, even if their were massive civilian casualties. Consider the alternative. In hindsight, mistakes were made, but history condemns everyone, but not every ideology, and certainly not the ideology of democracy, upon which the U.S. was founded.

That is funny. You can't believe the hype of the U.S. regime in power at the time, just like you can't believe the W. Bush regime today. The U.S. ended up losing all of Asia and was overrun economically by Japan in the 1980's. China, Germany, and Japan now are more powerful than the United States. The U.S. is on some sort of fantasy Imperial adventure in the Middle East, wasting away it's youth. You Americans are pathetic.

It's not some fantasy adventure. It's a grab for oil.

Except that they are, in fact, not more economically powerful than the US. The Japanese economy is so bogged down with non performing debt it will take generations to dig themselves out. China is sitting on a cultural and environmental time bomb. Germany has it's own particular issues but is not close to the US in productivity (many blame the Bavarians).

So, sure we're pathetic, but infinitely less pathetic than where ever you live. So let's both have a laugh at your expense, OK?

that is funny. you lie using voodoo finance in the same way you lie using voodoo history twisted to make the u.s. look like a success. the u.s. owes 10 trillion in debt and twists the figures so japan, china, and germany looks bad. the u.s. borrows and borrows and in real terms is a much smaller economy than france, germany, and japan. visit those countries some time and you will the the standard of living far exceeds the u.s.

grabbing air is easier ;-) they have to sell the oil to whomever offers the highest price. china, india, and russia are huge economies now, and have supplied the freedom fighters in iran and syria, with nuclear fuel and weapons technology. the u.s. can't even control it's own borders nor the kkk/nazis in their own country whom have taken over the white house. how does the u.s. expect to control oil 1/2 way across the globe. the u.s. has lost the wars in iraq, palestine, and afghanistan. bush is just waiting until his regime expires, then hillbooty gets stuck with apologizing for u.s. genocide against the semitic peoples of the middle east.
