a runner that HAS NOT won an olympic gold medal CAN NOT be named THE BEST. There's no way.
I think that you and the430miler should create a separate thread to debate this issue. That would undoubtedly be the TOD.
and yet he is.
and just one more reason why he's the best
Two world records in the same championship. Comments unnecessary...

Call up the Danish Immigration service and ask them.
Sometimes Olympic gold isn't available to you. Take out Cruz's win in LA and compare them. Hell, leave it in and it's still clear that Kipketer is superior.
I am sorry I admit Kipketer is the best - he would beat Cruz every time and I have been a very naughty boy ... forgive me

Instead of using the caps lock button, you should take some english classes.

Looking for domination - Harbig also held the WR for 400m and is the only man ever to have that distinction - unfortunately he was killed in action during WWII.
Snell, Wohlhuter, Jauntorana, Coe, and Kipketer were dominant in their time and world record holders. Cruz was dominant but never a WR. The argument as to who was the best ever is kind of like beauty - it is in the eye of the beholder. It is interesting that nobody posting has mentioned Wohlhuter who had a stranglehold on the event between 72 and 76 games.
It's also interesting to note that Harbig, Moens, Snell and Ryun's times were run on cinders not rubber.

You should give her your address. I´m pretty sure a seventy year old lady would love to get boned by a HS kid.
'splain to me Lucy !*=?y=?*y=?I assume unannotated two decimal times are Automatic times and one decimals are hand timed marks.Convention would say y=yards Is this a hybrid list interspacing converted times ?? I can see 1:44.6y is faster than 1:44.3* and 1:44.1y is faster than an unannotated 1:43.7 but I'm missing the methodologysorry.
