Uh, if this artificial leg was such an advantage, wouldn't amputees be faster than they are? The same technology is available to all, so wouldn't it make sense that these people would be running faster than 53 if they had an advantage? A MEDIOCRE HS sophomore can run 53. If the leg was an advantage, you're telling me NONE of these people except Oscar naturally have more talent than some no-name 16 year old? Yeah, right.

Oscar Pistorius can easily break 800m and 1000m world records, for sure.
There is no reason to worry about 100m, 200m and 400m world records, but 800m and 1000m are at stake. He definitely is able to run under 1.39 for 800m and 2.09 for 1000m.
iaaf says he has an advantage due to less air-resistance. more research to be done.
