Thanks to Haylom for having the guts and courage to try to win that 1500 off the front. Hiltz and others need to thank her for making it an honest race and pulling them to fast times.
I know it would be a long shot. That is my slim “but what if” hope. I hope Addy does go in planning to challenge and not be intimidated by Keely. That is the only way US women are going to have any chance on the world stage. There are finally some going to world events that want more than just to be there.
If Keely goes 1:55 pace trying to challenge her would most likely mean not getting a medal. That would be stupid, not brave.
well, speaking of not brave but stupid
great kick by Nikki no shame in being behind Hunter-Bell and Hull
Just so bad. Why not wait until 800 to go? Her coach might think she’s Gudaf Tsegay but she’s not. It ultimately really helped out the top 2 as credit to GHB and Hull but they used it as an impetus to make it fast. Hiltz and Guillemots kicks couldn’t overcome positioning.

I have been watching Georgia and Keely’s IG posts from South Africa since December. Just posts of them collapsing after running each other into the ground. I had a feeling Georgia was going to win.
Can’t wait for the men’s 800. I think this is the first time watching a meet I am more excited about a men’s race than women’s. I hope Cooper wins.
Reminder that Hocker didn't make the 1500 team. His kick fresh would've been great, but he showed at USAs that after a hard 3k, he couldn't keep up with Green's kick. 6th in the world is a great result from Green, who is in his first year as a pro, and I don't think we can say Hocker (in the 2nd half of a double) would've done better. Now the worst of the UW trio may be Waskom, who I thought might be the best after making the US team as, like, a sophomore or something. Houser already snagged a medal, and Green was 6th today. Not to put down Waskom, I don't see why he couldn't do it either, just using him as a reference point.
3rd-6th were very evenly matched. Green tried to make the right moves but ultimately Spencer beat him out to the best position when it mattered even though Spencer was on the rail.
Yeah, if he ran a bit different tactically he may have been able to get a medal, but that's better than I expected for him going into his first global championship. Houser way overperformed expectations (as he always seems to indoors) for his bronze.
Great women's 1500 too, I was sad because I thought they'd just given up the win, but then it was a dogfight for the medals. WL NR PB NR from the top 4, not much more you can ask for.

I think Hiltz would’ve fared better in a tactical race so I doubt Nikki feels the need to thank someone who made the race fast.
