Sweden doesn't just have the world's best Pole Vaulter it also has the best Scientific proof that Tylenol doesn't cause Autism.
tRump is going to bring out his clowns 🤡🤡 today to tell you different.
Im a scientist, and let me tell you, we are represented by the AMA, and they have been silent. So we are no better. Every leader in medicine and the AMA should be in front of a mic saying do not listen to the president at all. Ignore everything that comes out of there mouths.
The problem is that they can’t. In Trump 1.0 they could have done that. In 2.0 we are too far along in this autocratic slide for any institution to risk harming themselves with retribution for humiliating the administration

They should be scared to criticize Trump. To be against Trump is to be against America.
Trump and Kennedy may not be doctors themselves (not that this is important or relevant), but they do have America's best interest at heart (true patriots), where Lib scientist/doctors are anti-American, likely traitors, whose whole ethos is the lie. That is the most important factor - they search for the truth (why he is the "Truth social" guy), where doctors support big Pharma and are out to delude and harm America. I believe everything my President says, as I should, and critics should be deported - this is HIS country after all, he is the boss (King) and his opinions are God-given.
Wow the FDA acknowledges that their recommendation isn’t based on gold standard science AND admits that other fever reducers are even worse for the baby.
This is so embarrassing.
I have the same skepticism about Tylenol that I had (have) on the Covid vaccine AND the same response, which is...
... show me the data.
The announcement cites nothing new so what we seem to have is just... an opinion.
Also, some people take Tylenol like it's candy! You can buy bottles of 500 tablets, for goodness sakes. I'd like to see data breaking down autism cases to zero, low, and high dosages of Tylenol.
Here’s the data from one of the more publicized studies that shows a link.
The HHS may be announcing that Tylenol use during pregnancy causes autism tomorrow.
The only problem with doing that is that we have strong causal evidence that Tylenol does not cause autism.
When you control to only look at siblings with different levels of exposure, there’s no effect (the dotted lines).
It’s extremely unlikely there’s an effect here, and if there is, it can’t possibly explain the massive increase RFK alleges. (The increase is just diagnostic changes)

Meanwhile, there are studies which say it does and studies which say it doesn't.
Rational people think more research should be done.
And we shouldn’t be scaring pregnant moms for no reason. That’s harmful.
I don’t think there’s enough evidence to support spending more tax dollars on yet more studies - the null result is pretty clear - but people can fund it if they want.
The sad part to me is - there are families out there desperate to understand autism. RFK and Trump trumpeted that they “found the cause” and it’s just data that’s been published for years. Nothing new or groundbreaking
The stuff they tout can’t possibly explain the 100x increase in cases they allege. (Did moms only start taking Tylenol in the 90s? No.)
They just lied to vulnerable pregnant moms for attention.
Meanwhile, there are studies which say it does and studies which say it doesn't.
Rational people think more research should be done.
Then rational people should find it odd and disconcerting that the president made a whole big national announcement about it and explicitly said: “Don’t take Tylenol. Don’t take it. Fight like hell not to take it" while encouraging pregnant women to "tough it out".
If Trump and RFK Jr truly believed they made a conclusive finding connecting Autism and Acetaminophen, wouldn’t they take a stronger position and ban it to protect people?
And do you find it interesting that Dr Oz owns a supplement company that sells what both of them now recommend for autism?

Is it really scandalous for pregnant women to just not take Tylenol until we know for sure?
Its not like Tylenol is something you actually need.
We spend BILLIONS on some of the dumbest studies imaginable.

If people were unsure if apples caused autism would you stop eating apples just in case?
Take ibuprofen.
Anyone pretending to be outraged by this is absurd.
It's got nothing to do with autism or Tylenol they're just raging at the 🍊 man as always.

So, you accept their conclusion. Got it. Countdown for excuse for being a hypocrite begins...
The gold standard frame work only works if it’s applied correctly.
In this case they did not include a study with a null effect from 2M children. The largest of its kind.
Gold standard framework is not the same as gold standard research.
Imagine I pay Canova for the best training plan money can buy. But then I don’t follow it. See the issue?
It was applied correctly. You're applying your political/ideological bias to science because you don't like who introduced it.
That "2M children" study is Ahlqvist et al and it WAS considered.
Evaluation of the evidence on acetaminophen use and neurodevelopmental disorders using the Navigation Guide methodology wrote:
A third, large prospective cohort study conducted in Sweden by Ahlqvist et al. found that modest associations between prenatal acetaminophen exposure and neurodevelopmental outcomes in the full cohort analysis were attenuated to the null in the sibling control analyses [33]. However, exposure assessment in this study relied on midwives who conducted structured interviews recording the use of ALL MEDICATION, with no specific inquiry about acetaminophen use. This discrepancy suggests substantial exposure misclassification, potentially leading to over five out of six acetaminophen users being incorrectly classified as non-exposed in Ahlqvist et al.
See the issue? Talk about "not applied correctly". The study YOU think is "gold standard" is the one removed because of its massive, gaping flaws.
Rational people wouldn’t lend their ear to a guy who suggested you to drink bleach to get rid of the corona virus. But because half of America is part of a weirdo cult that guy is now the president

Ah I was thinking of the wrong paper. My bad.
Baccarelli is a fraud. He has a financial and personal interest in the outcome here.
If the rumors are true RFK Jr. will announce tomorrow that Tylenol taken during pregnancy is linked to autism.
This claim is likely based on the flawed Andrea Baccarelli 2025 paper where he cherry-picked weaker studies & ignored larger quality sibling studies, for example a…
Weird some scicomm ppl gave the “Tylenol in pregnancy & autism” review some weight.
They don’t know the lead author, Baccarelli, had the exact claims thrown out of federal court for having ZERO scientific merit when he was a paid “expert” in lawsuits against Tylenol makers.
Their review grades the Ahlquist Swedish study excellently then gives it a -2 score in “expert opinion” because they desperately need to underweight so it doesn’t disprove their pet theory.
The entire review is crafted to give the answer that, big surprise, Baccarelli makes money off of as an expert witness in sham lawsuits. Shameless.

Tylenol reduces fevers. It’s basically the only thing currently allowed during pregnancy.
Fevers are demonstrably bad for the developing fetus.
You better be very very sure the treatment is actually worse than the condition here.
If people were unsure if apples caused autism would you stop eating apples just in case?

Oh, yea, just take ibuprofen instead! Except pregnant women are not supposed to take ibuprofen. It is dangerous to the baby. (This IS supported by evidence.) That's why this is a big deal; Tylenol is one of the only recommended over-the-counter medications for pregnant women experiencing pain/fever.
If you're going to make a big splash announcement like this and call it "one of the biggest medical breakthroughs in the history of our country" (Which Trump did, while eulogizing Charlie Kirk, no less), then you'd better have a whole lot more than than "well, it's not a direct connection, and we need a lot more evidence, but you should definitely be cautious about large, regular doses sustained over a long period of time."
