Garmers went 1-2 at the Ballantyne Ridge Cross Country Invitational

Well, Belen Jesuit will no longer be ranked nationally. They scored 26 points at this meet last year now now score 160 with a bunch of 16:40 guys.

They actually scored 104 pts. 160 was second place (also a FL team).

Belen’s #3 guy was more than a minute behind their #2 (granted their top 2 are really good).

Seems like an NXN trip isn’t quite a lock for Belen. Lots of good teams in the Southeast this year.

Brentwood girls dominated this race.

Webb girls 4th & 5th runners went 19:38 and 19:48. Their top 3 didn’t race here, but the Garmer sisters raced at the Ballantyne Ridge instead.

To get an idea of Belen’s chances of making NXN, we’ll have to see how they do in the Southern Showcase and Great American (the meets that the top Southeast teams go to)

Garmers received a 146 and 145 speed rating

Lafayette looks like a great Dark Horse they have a very solid 5 and had a great track season.

#1 Xavier Richardson 15:10, 9:00, 4:09, 1:53

#2 Van 15:17 5k on the track, 4:14

#3 Jackson Profitt 15:50 at NXR, 9:26, and 4:21

#4 Andrew Grace 15:50 , 4:26

#5 Colson Somerville 16:07 as a freshman and 4:34

Calvert Hall has a transfer from Severna Park, but he was listed as SCR in this race

Christ School dominates eye opener

Knoxville Catholic boys team wins the Scottsboro invitational without Duncanson. Their girls team dominated it

Webb’s 4th and 5th runners at 19:38 and 19:48 might be an issue. This means Webb may struggle getting to NXN this year.

There will be lots of runners between Webb’s 3rd and 4th at NXR. Sounds like a lot of points. Lots of work needs to be done.

Brentwood had their 4th and 5th runners at 19:05 and 19:07.

Webb was ranked as high as 4th at some preseason national rankings, but that seems a little high

Trinity has great depth. That Lafayette 1-2 punch will be deadly in a big meet, surly those 5-7 guys can get into better shape for a post season push.

Lafayette & Trinity had a dual meet this weekend in Kentucky.

Trinity depth is pretty unmatched, they had 20 guys in before Lafayettes #7. But it only takes 5. Lafayette has a great 1-2 punch but their 4-5-6-7 will kill them at a big invite.

Big meets like Great American and Trinity Invite should tell more.

This was a very flat / fast course, probably runs more like a track. Would add 10-15 sec to times for a XC course like Carry, NC where NXR SE is held.

Southern Showcase in a few days. Should give everyone an early season feel for potential qualifiers. Belen Jesuit, Broughton, McCallie, Knoxville Catholic will all be there on the boys side.

Broughton still hasn't run a lot of their top guys yet. Most of them are showing up on the entries on milesplit, but their likely #1 Cam Kuss not listed so unclear if Broughton will be a full squad or not.
