Just watched the Saddlecup race and El Toro's Lilly Schroeder appeared to be injured. She came in limping and cried from frustration when she crossed the finish line. She was El Toro's 2/3 runner last year. Hopefully it's not a serious injury.
it's typical injuries and probably trying to get back in training too hard and too soon. 2024 was a singularity year for Millie (a junior) who pushed herself to beat a senior, Rylee.
It's going to be epic between Summer and Braelyn as they are both senior. Braelyn has the kick but Summer has the endurance. Braelyn runs PR City Invite on the 6th. Summer and Braelyn will come head to head at Woodbridge.
On the boys side, Jace of LB Poly looks like he has more endurance now to go with his speed (winning Coolbreeze). We will see more at Dana Hills on who will be top contenders for the boys side for Clovis.

Teamwise I am rooting for the Beckman Boys!
Wilson has a "gnarly" kick according to Abigail Errington. If you watch Wilson's races Errington is correct.
If you watch the D3 Southern Section X-Country video where Errington calls Wilson's kick gnarly and then watch this past springs D3 Southern Section 3200 Wilson proves Errington correct.

Have to mention this because it funny to me concerning the bike guy that films the video, he didn't get hurt.
At last falls Southern Section D3 girls final around the mile mark they cut from the bike feed to another feed and it films the bike and rider almost going down. He's able to save it and keeps going. I wonder what would have happened if the bike had gone down and blocked the path of runners.

you're replying to the bike guy that films the video.

Hmm - I don't remember close call on the D3 race for CIF SS in 2024. It's this one here:
That was typical with the loose dirt. This is why I'm a card carrying (AAA Tow) PROFESSIONAL (unpaid) Bike Cam Operator. Joking aside, this is why I'll be using an electric Quad ATV for Mt. SAC. For the bike, I'm upgrading to higher traction motocross tires.
The worst incident was one hour before the D1 race when I thought it was a good idea to follow the water truck in the fog. I went down breaking the battery mount. Almost didn't start the D1 race.
The only close call was Footlocker race leading Dailey going up Poop Out Hill where I tried to accelerate up the hill only to have the bike pulling the front end off the ground. I had to cut power and of course Ms. Dailey passed me.

Yup. Go to around 5:33 in race time. When you start to lose your horizon and you have to put your foot down to save yourself and you don't go down it's a nice save.

Millie only beat Rylee at CIF Finals, and props to her for having a good day when Rylee was clearly not herself. Blade won every other XC race all season except for NXN.

Not to be pompous, but Blade also lost the Clovis invite to Sadie
Summer’s got the girls equivalent to the Noonan kick
Summer's kick is strong, but as HD Runners shows here, there's no better kick in the country than Braelyn Combe's - in the mile and 800m. Haven't seen her use it in an XC race yet.
Gonna be fun to see Wilson and Combe race at Woodbridge and Clovis, but neither one of them will be the favorites to win either of those races with Dailey running in both.

Dailey just got beat pretty easily by Jaelyn Williams. I think Williams is the top girl this xc season in California.
