Case in point: this interview with Gjert. He was accused of abuse mere WEEKS ago and LetsRun doesn’t ask him ONE question about it. And yet time and time again they go out of their way to confront Coleman about something that happened 3-5 years ago. Hmm I wonder why here’s why: GJERT IS WHITE AND COLEMAN IS BLACK
We caught up with coach Gjert Ingebrigtsen before the men's 1500 prelims at the 2024 World Indoors. Gjert talks about Narve Nordås' chances and training. For ...
And what's with all the deletions here? Did some posters hurt the mods' feeling by wondering whether using nandrolone is also bad, not just missing tests?
Racism is cool, but don't you dare mention that Rojo plays favorites.

And of course the most important question - about his police charges - was not yet asked by letsrun. I wonder if Gault / BroJos will have balls.
Rojo Interview: You lightly threw a soft towel in your daughter’s direction and now you have criminal charges to deal with. Four of your children won’t talk to you now. How does this complete injustice make you feel?

How about: "would you comment on the reasons for your criminal charges and the total allienation of your family"?
To get his side of the story straight from the source.

That is what he should ask, but not what he will ask.
I thought it through further this morning and it dawned on me what the problem is...
In most secure news companies, there are departments and categories.
There's the owner or CEO, sometimes a CFO and maybe a COO.
Then there are the editors, who sometimes are the journalists themselves.
Then, there are the journalists if the editors are publishers.
The specific categorical journalists are trained in asking certain questions on particular subjects to people, but these journalists are known as journalists who represent a company.
Jim Acosta doesn't own CNN. Nate Burleson does not own ABC. You can go on and on in this idea.
Conversely, letsrun doesn't provide this, which is likely very insecure to the top athletes. It's strange to have the owners and their associates be the only and final journalists representing a company since most of these top athletes run for a shoe company sponsor with a specific corporate structure.
When there is no direct corporate oversight because the company is the same people who write the stories, any athlete has to be wary of any information given because they would not know what is made of it. As a result, there's nobody higher or more influential to effect change if there are complaints about how the information is represented.
In this regard, it looks independent enough to resemble paparazzi, and, coupled with a "free speech" style message board that is moderated with the assumption that top athletes don't read it and it's okay to say whatever about top athletes because of free speech, it makes perfect sense why they are not answering letsrun.
Most PR people should direct their athletes to more respectful, reasonable and respectable publications.
I'd hate LetsRun, too. Gault muttered something about "can't stop doing my job."
Okay, but whoever told you your job is to continually and repeatedly bring up stuff from years and years ago?
Especially when you've NEVER done so with athletes like Shelby and deleted/ban users for wondering whether Ryan Hall dopes
Every single American 100 meter sprinter has been caught doping. I think it's justified what LetsRun asks
And the questioning would be understandable if the same amount of questioning was made of white female athlete who was banned by the authorities instead of making numerous posts of her innocence. If you claim to be a journalist, you are supposed to report the story not become the story.
Given Coleman's start, I expect him to win the 60M. I would suspect him of being back on PED if he started to run 6.3s for the 60 and 9.7s for the 100M again.

Add in Paula Radcliffe who seemed endlessly suspicious to me. And others. Coleman just won a Championship; there are better times to ask about whereabouts.
That was 2021. This is 2024. He’s already answered for his mistakes. Asking about it now is poor journalism
Serving a ban is not a choice, and it's not "answering for his mistakes." I believe in second chances, but not in the case of someone who shows no contrition and has done nothing to redeem himself.

Paging Shelby Houlihan and RoJo. Paging RoJo and Houlihan to the irony suite.
I'll say that LetsRun is not really doing anything wrong. The guy is consistently suspicious (as in. Perhaps always on the sauce). I'll also add that I don't blame Coleman for not liking certain media outlets if he feels slighted by them. Why deal with someone you don't like? At least hes not withholding his feelings and being real in that regard.
I think you might mean he's suspect, not suspicious.

So do you think that they should give both athletes a pass, or just Coleman? I think they should have been much harder on Shelby, but that doesn't mean that they should continue making the same mistake forever to satisfy your need for consistency. They should absolutely not let Coleman dictate what questions he can be asked. Missing multiple tests is very serious, which is why it results in a ban.
Don't play Coleman's game of pretending it's no big deal.
