Chamberlains 100 pt game was done before the three point line even existed.
His record will always stand as most impressive even if it gets broken with modern rules.
Crazy record, but "impressive"? It was well known that his team just fed him the ball the whole game and of course at that time he was literally head and shoulders bigger than everyone ( he scored over 60 like 30 times). Ill take anybody's 70pts nowadays over Wilts 100. 3 pt shot notwithstanding.
Not exactly a record but Isner over Mayut 60-58( games ) in 5th set. that set was longer than any previous match in history — what’s the probability that it takes 106 games ( after 6-6) to finally have someone lead by 2
If a pitcher today averaged 30 complete games a year (the record in 2023 was 3) for 25 years in a row, then they would have one more CG than Cy Young.
That one actually might be possible on a technicality, as I could see the current tennis-player turned commissioner trying to move from 9 inning games to 4 or 5.
Stockton leading both assists AND steals all time (by laughable margins) is going to be hard to top. To do both at that high a level for as long as he did won't be done again.

The All England Club changed the rule in 2019, and now they play the fifth set tiebreak after 12-all. (The first time this happened was the 2019 final.) All the other majors play the tiebreak after 6-all.
So it won't happen again unless they change the tiebreak rule again.
Interesting that nobody has mentioned Simone Biles. 30 medals at World championships, 23 World gold medals, and 6 World all around titles are all world records. Beating any of those would require longevity that is very rare in gymnastics, especially while winning.
People keep bringing up Wilt's 100 point game, but his rebounds single game record is even better.
His 55 rebounds in one game is absolutely insane. Bill Russell is the only one who ever came close with 51. No other players other than Wilt or Russell ever went over 50.
Dennis Rodman's best is "only" 34. Nobody is ever going to break Wilt's single game rebound record.
The course has been changed since Carpenters' record so it can not be broken anymore. The last three miles of Bar trail are a lot harder now. Killian was on pace to break the record till that last segment, so the record is pretty much impossible to break now due to the course conditions.
