You wrote a ten-thousand word essay to justify hate speech. Well done. The mental acrobatics that people will go through. Do you think if Femke Bol misses 3 tests between now and Paris, that it won't set off massive alarms and people won't have the same energy for her in the mixed zone if she gets a pass? Do you really think that everyone just can't stand to see a black African girl as a world record holder? If that tracks, then I guess we're all supposed to hate Faith Kipyegon just the same. Pretty sure everyone loves Faith Kipyegon, and guess what, she's a black African girl. Or is it because Tobi Amusan missed 3 tests, got a pass, and said "these white mfs"? Say what you want about irresponsible journalism, but stop trying to pass off hate speech as being misunderstood.
I will repeat what I said in my 10,000-word essay since you clear didn't read it fully - her use of those words cannot be condoned, and yes I do agree that she must be reprimanded as there is no excuse for such language anywhere in civil society. Now that I have made my position on that clear, can you now share your position on the behavior of Mr. Dennehy and what you think about whether there is any systemic racial bias in the sport, and whether that has played any role in where we are with Amusan's case right now?
This Nigerian perspective is full of nothing and is not grounded in reality. Any athlete, whether Nigerian or not, who uses PEDs to gain an advantage does it to, in the long run, improve their socio-economic status. It is a worldwide thing. The Nigerian official quoted was speaking in general terms to an audience on why athletes dope. He was not specifically or exclusively referring to Nigerian athletes. Also, sprinter Divine Oduduru has not FAILED any drug test. Brett Clothier and his AIU charged him with possession of a banned substance. On the surface, this is difficult to fathom. Was he pictured sitting in a table across from a case of banned substances? Was he pictured removing banned substances from his mail box? What exactly is the crime committed here? The AIU has till date not said Oduduru failed a drug test. Is Brett Clothier and his never shoot straight gang now prowling the airports and rifling through athletes' bags in search of prohibited items.? Is the AIU now affiliated with the US Customs?
Little wonder football federation Fifa, Major League Baseball and others look at at Sebastian Coe's World Athletics and wonders why it treats it's athletes as petty criminals.
Why is there zero chance she’s not a doper? Folks like you can’t be reasoned with, you’re just confirming your bias against her by saying that no facts matter and no facts can change your mind about whether she has doped? You must be a troll or just part of the problem highlighted by Dennehy’s behavior others have outlined before - looks like he clearly has a lot of like minded people to write for in the fandom!
There's zero chance she's not a doper because I'm not a moron and I have experience of the sport.
She missed three tests, that's not really in doubt. But basically she's managed to argue her way out of one of the missed tests on a technicality.
So the situation is that she's dodged two tests officially, but the third one she dodged the tester didn't follow some arbitrary rule so is deemed invalid.
Also, have there ever been any clean top level Nigerians? Not many spring to mind. I always got the impression doping wasn't really seen as a big deal there.
Your response is rather problematic in so many ways:
- I’m not a moron either (was that a backhanded insult from you? Lol) and I also have experience of the sport
- That she missed 3 tests is clearly in doubt if the appeal tribunal cleared her of the whereabouts failure - how hard is that to understand?
- You’re making up details to suit your narrative when you haven’t even seen the final AIU report on how/why she was cleared. As someone else mentioned above, the rumor is that 2 of the missed tests were thrown out - but why don’t we all just wait until the report is released rather than drawing baseless conclusions to fit your own personal biases?
- With your last comment we can now all clearly see that your bias is indeed of a racial nature…what kind of argument is that - all Nigerians cheat (clearly not true by the way), hence she must be a cheat? Way to go exposing yourself here.
I really held back on speculating on the nature of the bias but I think you just articulated why Mr. Dennehy and some of you here simply can’t fathom that a Nigerian girl could be a World Record Holder without cheating…it actually confuses you so much that you make completely illogical statements like the one above, lol - it’s actually hilarious…
By the way, there is absolutely no doubt that Nigeria and some of its Athletes have had a very poor doping history - Okagbare and Oduduru of recent spring to mind…but that makes it no less biased to jump to that there have been no clean top level Nigerian Athletes. It’s really a laughable statement to make.
Perhaps you don’t have as much experience in the sport as you think you do, to make that kind of statement. Bottom line is, Nigeria has never had a World Record Holder till now, and I’m aghast at the number of fans in this thread alone who cannot (or are not willing) to separate their biases from reality….it actually hurts you so much to believe that any top level Nigerian athlete could be clean? Let’s just say that you’re struggling with this because they’ve never had a World Record till now?
I believe Oduduru fell on the sword for his association to Okagbare - I really cannot say whether it’s fair or not that they banned him for so long (I think it’s 4 or 5 years?) despite not actually testing positive, but I definitely would not equate it in any way to the level of unfairness that we’ve potentially seen Amusan’s case - never failed a test either and unless the AIU is successful in appealing, it also looks like she should never have been provisionally suspended in the first place (if AIU really had/has a strong case, I doubt Amusan would have been able to escape punishment, but let’s see the final report first to make final judgment on this?)
Oduduru on the other hand was linked to Okagbare’s very high profile case where I believe her supplier was convicted in the US - my understanding is they were housemates perhaps and that’s how he may have had the stuff in question in his possession? I really don’t know, I just remember she was referred to as Athlete 1 in the case and he was revealed as Athlete 2 in the case much later on…
Whether Oduduru’s case was fair or not, Amsuan should not have to carry the suspicions directed at all Nigerian Athletes (though I guess that’s just a fact of life for her), though she probably should have understood better the level of scrutiny attached to her status as a World Record Holder - she should have been far more ready to respond to Mr. Dennehy’s questions and now she’s been caught on camera making a very clear racial slur - sure she should be reprimanded for that but Mr. Dennehy’s behavior has also been rather unprofessional and unbecoming of someone of his stature in Athletics journalism…his last piece in particular looked more like the work of a stalker inflaming racial tensions with his media colleagues and a whole country of people, rather than the work of a serious journalist, very sad!
Little wonder football federation Fifa, Major League Baseball and others look at at Sebastian Coe's World Athletics and wonders why it treats it's athletes as petty criminals.
i dont understand why we dont all treat doping athletes like the criminal frauds they are....
There's very little chance her world record is legitimate, whether in timing or doping. Keni Harrison has run faster than Amusan's 2nd best time five times
Carl Lewis has eight jumps longer than Mike Powell's 2nd best jump. Valerie Allman had 36 throws longer than Tausaga-Collins's lifetime best before Budapest.
I'm not saying that this makes Amusan's record legitimate, but odd races do happen.
I have watched three editions of the same interview. I am sure it happened, but need to hear it for myself. Apparently there was terrible secruity at Budapest as one friend or fan or relative of Amuson's got in, barged her way to the front and started fan-girling her with leading questions and assumptions. It was very cringe-worthy. The question is, how did this woman get in? No security? You have to apply to be working media at a global championships. What if the person was dangerous?
Did you watch the two golf carts collide?
If that can happen getting through Barney Fife type security guards would be child's play.
People are saying that most people who start and sustain these controversial threads in Let's run are ex-Storm front ex-KKK dues paying members who have finally found a site that allows them channel deep racial hatred towards 'other' athletes and freely and shamelessly propagate racial and confirmation basis.
It is the only pending task they wake up to every morning.. What a life!
It beats shooting up a school campus or house of worship. Sometimes when a true violent sounding whacko posts on this site he is one step away from going postal.
Irish reporter Cathay Dennehy asked Tobi Amusan for details on her wherabouts failure in the mix zone at WC’s. She refused to answer him and then muttered, “this white motherf**”.
Should World Athletics address her racist comments as not acceptable and suspend her for a period?
My understanding from this forum is that it is universally undeniably known that black people are innately stupider (by IQ), so of course they will occasionally say the wrong thing because they are simply not as smart as the average on average, so maybe we should cut them some slack?
That last line uncovers your racism already, especially when Tobi doesn't even train in Nigeria nor do they provide any resources for her: she is a UTEP alum and moved with her Jamaican coach to train in Alabama after that.
Besides, she was actually cleared of two of the "missed tests". So we'll just have to wait and see what the report says. Not that it will affect your judgement as you clearly decided she's guilty even before her provisional suspension!
Someone running that fast from a doping country with a coach from a doping country doesn't really need to be dodging tests all over the place (like she was) to look like a clear doper.
The running from the testers for months is just the tip of the iceberg.
Not just running fast but having a sudden unnatural leap in performance. The #1 indicator of an athlete who has started using PEDS.
Plus the fact that you have 2 other UTEP athletes who were banned recently along with Divine Oduduru. All African runners, three Nigerians counting Amusan.
She never said that, she is from Nigeria and there is No Racism against White there, They are Nice People, I have met some, They Get Straight A's in School, Many I Know are from the IGBO Tribe, I have not heard any, Hate Remarks against Whites, The Ones I know agree with me that onlt Women can get Pregnant and are not fans of LGBTQ, So Props to the people of Nigeria
Amusan is Yoruba from SW Nigeria like Olajuwon.Nigerians are very smart, they don't let white racism bother them, they accept white people for what they are. Can't change nature of the beast they believe.Nigerians are the perfect student athlete, great in the classroom and great on the field.

Seriously, where is your evidence that she is a doper? Provide it. Do not just slander and assassinate people's characters because you can. Grow up.
Brett Clothier has a doping tips page on the AIU website where you can anonymously report dopers and their activities. Make use of it.
Maybe if you deliver the goods on Amusan, you might be rewarded with a hefty payment in French Francs since the AIU office is in Monaco.
My evidence is that she's a 'world record holder' who's dodging drug testers left right and centre. She comes from a country with a long history of cheating and has a coach from a country with shorter history but still extensive cheating profile.
100% doped.
The fact that she lawyers up and gets off on a technicality doesn't change reality. We see this all of the time.
You seem obsessed with her, so I appreciate my words might be difficult for you to hear.
Talking about athletes from countries 'with a long history of cheating' you may want to acknowledge ' super clean' athletes such as cyclist Lance Armstrong and baseball player Mark Mcguire to mention just two. The list could easily top 200.
Never throw stones from a glass house if you live in one.
