imagine breaking into the NBA and win MVP, at age 25, undrafted, self coached, from nowhereville.
You can’t just make up the dudes age and then claim it as fact because you don’t like the age he says he is. He also didn’t say he was not in good shape. He just said not to expect a World Record. The field here especially with Amos Kipruto dropping out was solid but the top 3 in Boston would’ve been a good bet to all finish before Kamworor.
What if I believe Jakob and Muir (especially Jakob) are both likely doping, in addition to most Kenyans as well?
If we're being honest, Cheruiyot is more likely to be clean than Jakob - going from 1:46.44 to 1:51.10 (as the average split for his 1500) is far more suspicious than 1:43.11 to 1:51.08. Jakob has no speed reserve at all, and EPO is a thing that helps greatly with maintaining lackluster speed: Komen slowed down less from 1500 to 3000 than Jakob does from 800 to 1500
Kiptum is clean as can be. The guy is just a natural runner, self coached and eating Ugali. This guy was born to run. The doping accusations are coming from fat freaks who struggle to waddle to the fridge. This man is so clean I would guess that Rekrunner would lick ice cream off of him.
Oh no!
I missed this comment.
I never knew there are people who struggled to 'waddle' to the fridge. Now I do.
Why does any distance runner need a coach? once you learn the basic principles involved, you know all you need to know. As they say, this ain’t rocket science.
What is the real benefit of having a running coach? It's not a team sport, the training concepts and structures haven't dramatically changed etc etc. They are all 'self coached' to an extent anyway

Glad someone said it.
If only I scrolled all the way down before posting, lol...thanks
And when trained well, why shouldn't a 27 10k athlete run 58:xx and 2:02? Why shouldn't a 26:30 10k athlete run 57:xx and close to 2:00? That's at least my take on the times today.
I saw one of the top analytics guys on a general sports site make that point a few years ago. He matter of factly said the track world has been conditioned to accept slower times in the marathon than the top athletes should actually be running. He predicted we'd soon see faster times and more of them on both the men's and women's side.
i wrote back in 2008 that a bekele could go sub 2 hours. and laid out how to run an artificial 2 hours with the guys that are out there. which they did, mega drafting was the key, plus perfect conditions.
and the 26 min 10k is soft in comparison to what bekele was capable of.
any ya, somebody can go 138 in the 800m etc.
then we have PEDs. to figure, sometimes you know right away for sure, someimes you're guessing.
with our new dude, the verdict is out, i pointed out the "facts" don't add up to a giant red flag.
and ya, a clean guy can run 2 hours flat, but he's going to have to do something exceptional to stay healthy, for the training you have to put down.
Or maybe East Africans, and people of that ancestry, do have distance running talent? That seems like a logical answer
Just look at Devan Kipyego and Izaiah Steury - I’d be shocked if one, let alone both are doping, but they’re of Kenyan and Ethiopian heritage, respectively.
Well the tragedy is we don't know. And that's because of the rampant doping that's been allowed to take place in East Africa for decades.
You have no more reason to believe Kenyans have special talent at distance running, than you do Russians have for race walking, or women from the Eastern half of Germany have for the 400m, or women from the small Chinese region where Ma's army was selected from for distance running.
Such a strawman lmaooo and when I comes to that 400m record, we KNOW her heart was pumping straight gas
Kelvin could be the greatest marathoner of all-time in terms of taking to the event. We’ve all run the marathon and understand how hard it is to nail, especially your first time out. Great stuff.
BINGO. 4 months later. I don't think it's hyperbole to say, "This guy is the greateset marathoner ever..... or he's doped." His performances have just been unreal. Watching him just crush it at the end was so much fun today.
If he breaks 2:00, I just hope he doesn't break 1:59:40 as I don't want to have eat my inventory on Kipchoge tshirts.
Redness of the human eye is produced primarily by vasodilation of blood vessels.
Clinically, erythropoietin (EPO) is known to increase systemic vascular resistance and arterial blood pressure. However, EPO stimulates the production of the potent vasodilator, nitric oxide (NO), in culture endothelial cells.
. If you seriously think a self-coached 23 year old can turn up and run probably the greatest marathon in history, dropping the field by several minutes, then what's the point of ever discussing running again?
Ok. Let me turn it on you.
If you think a self-coached guy can somehow find a PED that is WAY better than anything anyone lese has ever been on, then what's the poit of ever watching a race again?
Look, if very well could be doping. I always say, "We don't know who is or isnt."
But please explain how some self-coached is on some drug that is WAY better than something anyone else has ever been on. Also please explain why is his half pb 'only' 58:43 when he was 6th in Valencia? Why didn't he cycle up and win that as well?
Are you at least open to the possibility that this guys is just Kipchoge 2.0? He ran sub-60 at age 19. Imagine if Kipchoge was running the marathon in his prime in super shoes, not at age 38 or however old he is (many think he is older).

Proof please? What was the name of thread? Did you post under this name? I'd love to see it.
One last comment before I go to bed. Tell me if my logic is off here.
So it seems like many on her believe all Kenyans dope? But this guy somehow destroys the best marthoners in the world by nearly 3 minutes over 12.2 k? Why in the hell aren't his fellow dopers on the same stuff he is on?
That logic seems to indicate to me either a) not all Kenyans are dope or b) Kiptum is a special, special marathon talent has to be true. One of those has to be true, right?
