Certainly some exceptions to that. Looking at last years national meet results on the men's side it shows that in the top 1/2 of the field #5, #7, #16 finishers were at-large teams.

The RMAC does not count. If the NCAA had their wits about them, the criteria would be:
Top 3 per region automatically qualify
Top 8 RMAC teams automatically qualify
Everybody else gets to try their hand at NAIA
Alright, let's lighten up the mood a bit. Who's the nicest person in the GMAC? Who's the worst?
David Nguyen !!!!
Worst: Anyone from Hillsdale
Naw
Bets on whether or not Walsh’s C team beats Malone’s B team at the Oberlin rumble this weekend?
Did you hear about that guy DN from ohio dominican
HOW BOUTTA DN TEAM
Walsh smells like sh!t
Trevaca Nazrine has better shot competing in womens GMAC race this year. Probably still get beat by Cederville girls
Now that’s a blast from the past! The senators edge out Findlay at the Go Fast “River” Run!
It’s almost that time of year, where dreams come true or die. Seeing a lot of good work by the conference on Strava (except a few pusses from Walsh who keep things on private). But before the heat of the coming week, let’s lighten the mood with the OFFICIAL ranking of the GMAC team logos.
In no particular order…
12-MALONE: can’t quite tell if he’s constipated, or if he just forgot his glasses
11-WALSH: this was little Timmy’s winning design from the 2007 Canton Elementary alphabet art contest. However, Timmy loves pirates, not cavaliers
10-ASHLAND: the saltine cracker of D2 logos, it does the job but nobody is really happy with it. Surprising for a school that is relevant in nearly every sport.
9-KENTUCKY WESLEYAN (the W): W is the only letter with more than one syllable
8-UNIVERSITY OF FINDLAY: They would gain some meme level points if they were named Findlay University instead. Rumors are that Derrick the Oiler sends his mighty pickax through the skulls of disapproving environmentalist club members
7-ODU: Sorry Nickolas, but but slick and simple doesn’t make it the best logo, just better than yours
6-NORTHWOOD: mid, at best
5.5-KENTUCKY WESLEYAN (the cat): meow
5-TREVECCA: dope trojan
4-HILLSDALE: a welcome re-“charge” to the Hillsdale branding. Might crack the top 3 without the goofy smile
3-LAKE ERIE: both unique and pretty solid. The opposite of Ashland in both logo quality and athletic performance
2: TIFFIN: distinct, with a solid athletic department behind it, Puff the Dragon looks like he hasn’t aged a day (unlike Dalton Graham, who is set to turn 28 next spring). Go gons
1: CEDARVILLE: since Billy Graham was already trademarked, CU settled for the next best thing: bees! That’s also the worst grade on their report card. However, bees sounded too similar to beast, so the name was changed to the Yellowjackets.
Lake Erie no. 3?? nah man that thing lookin goofy. wind dont have arms bro
I'll agree with your #1, but Hillsdale should be #2. Their re-design looks so much better than their old mascot. Whatever happened to the H with the wings? As far as I know, they're the only school in the conference where the track program has a different logo than the rest of the athletic department... maybe some sign of internal strife?
Hide your ladies people, I heard Dalton Graham is breaking out some new jerseys for the conference meet. The Gon's are going to be looking FRESH at the Big Dance. Now the question will be, who pulls off the best mullet? VandeerKoy from Hillsdale and Kraft of Walsh are my two frontrunners, but the men from Tenn always know how to pull off a good mullet (Trevecca for the simpletons out there). Or will Chungus Colebrook come back with his speed mullet and show everyone up?
Happy Championship Week to all! We're definitely headed for a treat this weekend, looking at the course, there will probably be a lot of fast times and PRs in the most competitive field in GMAC history.
Here's my hot take for the 2022 GMAC champs: NORTHWOOD FTW!! They are coming off several stellar performances this Fall, and will be battling it out with a Walsh squad that is coming fresh off the Michigan workout. Although they will be in good shape for Regionals, there's no way the are fully recovered this Saturday! You heard it here first, Haviland will be leading the pack to a Northwood Dub
Whatever happened to Ohio Valley University? They seemed to be the GMACs quiet up-and-coming track program, specifically in distance events (scoring in the DMR) in the GMAC but have since silently disappeared.
GMAC XC POWER RANKINGS: CONFERENCE WEEK
JUGGERNAUTS: WALSH, NORTHVILLE
CONTENDERS (non-Florida meets): CEDARVILLE, FINDLAY
SPICY TEAMS: MALONE, HILLSDALE
GOOD (at 800): TIFFIN, ASHLAND
WAITING TO HOST TRACK: KWC
ASS (but be nice): LAKE ERIE, ODU

Disagreement and discussion are welcome! However, I don’t regret to inform you that you are wrong. In fact, popular opinion says Lake Erie should be placed HIGHER
Does anybody know what the shoe situation will look like this weekend? Dragonflies, AlphaFlys, Next%'s, Adizero Pro3's? Who will stick to the classic matumbos? Even better, who has the cahones to run the entire race in basketball shoes? Sure, Craft can put up a good time in super-shoes, but what can he do in a pair of lead weighted cowgirl boots? A real runner doesn't need illegal shoes to run fast.
