Evansville didn’t even compete at the MVC indoor championships.. ouch

were definitely worse than the this indoor in terms of best overall times. On the men's side its a bit of a toss up, but overall they're both pretty bad.
There are multiple d3s clobbering St Bonaventure at meets in NY. I'm not trying to hate on them. I really hope they can do better... Seems like they are going in a positive direction, but definitely a long way to go.

look at their instagram, they have a very good recruiting class. they are spending huge amounts of money.
they have a grad transfer female from michigan state who has run 4:41 mile and 2:07 800.
a 2:07 girl from norway, a 2:11 runner from Austria, a 2:15 runner from canada, and a 2:12 runner from poland
for the men they have two 1:51 internationals committed, two 1:53 runners and a 1:54 guy.

It's Evansville. They aren't even the best running school in town and now USI is Div 1!
They are competing with a lot of other midwest schools for the same talent. Ya get what ya can get.

There are lots of D1 schools that are D1 "in name only" for the non-revenue sports. Football, men's basketball and sometimes women's basketball are revenue sports, and everything else (including XC and track) is not. It's a prestige thing done to recruit students: the basketball team could go to the D1 NCAA tournament, or they will play a team that will go the the D1 NCAA tournament.

Wow that’s a legit class without a doubt. Most of them seem to be solid 1500m runners as well.
How can one guy go there and do this in his first year there while the previous coach sits there all those years and does nothing!?

Ya get what ya get? Well, I highly doubt they could get a class this strong even if they got most of the top indiana talent. IU won’t have a class like this with Indiana recruits alone. This changed the game for that team.
