Damn! Hocker! He is legit. Top four as expected if not as most people picked. I wish Engels had snuck in the top three. He now has a fourth, fifth, and fourth in Olympic Trials finals from 2016 and 2020.
Was 3:23 with 100 to go! I wish people would quit letting Centro do whatever he wants. Wish they would’ve pushed the envelope to try to run low 3:30’s but oh well.
What was that final 100m from Hocker!!! It's like they all waited to the home stretch to separate, last 200/100 is probably more impressive than last 400 here.
Hocker definitely getting in with a 3:35 world ranking, no question about it. Centro was a great sport about taking the L this time, he wasn't letting up either! Hocker just had a better max speed.

Glad Knighton made the team even if his race was slightly underwhelming. Gives him a great chance to improve his WJR in Tokyo, glad Lyles won it also with a very nice time.

I think Hocker doesn't beat Centro if the race is like that. Maybe more of a help for Neguse.

Engels raced stupid, should have done what he always does and just stayed in the front.
However, Centro may still get the last laugh in this rivalry. Hocker is ranked 42 in the world this year, which is good and can definitely get him a spot, however it's worth mentioning that Engels has the standard and is ranked 12 currently. He has a chance, but wouldn't say they are high.
btw Fred Kerley is now the 3rd runner to go sub 10/20/44 and didn’t make the team in the 200
