What shoes was he wearing? I have no clue. But, there does seem to be a bunch of historically fast times being run lately. I dont think its "new" drugs.

US sprinter Trayvon Bromell threw down an Olympic challenge Saturday, clocking a world-leading 9.77sec to win the 100m at a meeting in Florida and become the seventh-fastest all time.

Not clean.
I recommend you read "Speed Trap" by Charlie Francis to gain more perspective on what went on during that time.

Even Bromell knew that wasn't a 9.77. There is something not right with SAFP time or with Bromell's.

to me she looked so amped pre race that she might leave her own skin on the blocks if she wasn't careful. Let's see SAFP warming up.
This message board is easily the worst board for Track and Field. Every good or great performance is viewed with a suspicious eye. I have to conclude that the accusers never made it past high school track and field. They are simply motivated by envy. Whenever I post here, I feel the urge to take a bath in a bucket of bleach. This is definitely the cesspool of track and field discussion.
If everyone’s cheating, no one is cheating - it’s a level playing field. LetsRunners don’t get it.

Sorry bud. Not everybody uses. Somewhere down the line there are clean athletes who are getting screwed.

SAFP’s time? Maybe. But only maybe.
Bromell/Bracy? Speculative at best. No sprinter believes Miramar times on their face.
Decent win over Bracy, but more separation would have been nice.

Getting super amped is no big. Some guys are calm as a morning lake, some are intense, some are over-amped. It’s no big deal, and not an indicator of anything.
Eg, Linford Christie (nandrolone) was cool as a cucumber.
Finally someone who knows what they're talking about. Oxycodone is not a performance enhancer - any effect it has on performance is likely to be detrimental. The reason it's banned is because it can be used as a drug of abuse, but the vast majority of people just use it as a painkiller, its intended purpose.
At any rate, this performance is incredible. Correct for wind it's in line with her previous best runs, but she's never run so fast so early.
She is the greatest female sprinter of all time, and based on her history, she'll probably go even faster at the Olympics.
Why start at 2006? Why not mention the 11.57 (+0.9) she ran in 2003, age 16? Is a 0.79 improvement across 5 years still suspicious?
That's the issue with looking an progression in isolation. No consideration of what was actually happening in those years. Why did she regress? Injuries? Not taking track seriously? It assumes the times were the best those athletes could be produced in those particular years, which is not a reasonable assumption until they become a professional.
11.74 was clearly not the extent of her ability in 2006, judging by her 11.57 3 years prior. 11.31 in 2007 almost certainly did not reflect her true ability either.
yeah, look at her shoes.. dang.
Debbie Brill of Canada set a world record in 1982 5 months after giving birth. In, of all things, the high jump!! Read back then of a correlation. One’s own hormones benefitting oneself. :-)

By "amped" I'm not talking about steroids. Those just make you strong as a gorilla.
The stimulant arms race has been going on a long time and goes beyond the ephedra-class things. I'm sure there's a lot of stuff around WADA never yet heard of.
I dont agree.I think all top athletes use steroids and other drugs.Thats the only way to be competitive.

The medical evidence is that strength peaks at 27 and thereafter declines, especially for someone who has been highly-trained. 34 is in that decline. Only doping will slow that decline physiologically.
Ridiculous. I won’t even give that suggestion the time of day.
Of course you won't. You have no medical knowledge.
