Dude, we get it. My gods. Although I will say that I'm surprised the reaction here is so strong. Ripping off a mega corp? Who cares? It isn't like he is screwing over a small mom and pop shop. Nike is a sh*t company anyway, just like all the other huge ones who employ south Asians to make their stuff for pennies a day.
Let's use an analogy to explain what I think is likely how a lot of people feel about this.
Think of Zach Levet as Zach Levet.
Now think of Nike as a kodiak bear. A giant apex predator killing machine.
And we've all just found that Zach Levet decided to slap this bear directly in the mouth. Do we feel bad for the bear? Probably not. But, as per the laws of the animal kingdom, this bear is now legally allowed to do whatever it wants to poor Zach. This is how I would understand the power dynamic at play and why the reaction is so strong.
Also, even if, by some miracle, Nike decides to stop at a cease and desist letter and not pursue the hundreds of thousands of dollars it could easily get Zach to owe in court, he's losing a major source of revenue and his reputation is tarnished. At a time when he could likely be operating at a loss and needs aggressive growth in his audience and sponsorships to stay soluble, his income has quickly dried up and his image has taken a major hit. Things looking bad for my mans.
