This is the bit that is selectively dishonest - I absolutely agree that nobody has to provide any evidence of anything - right up until they are making claims that they want other people to believe. Even then nobody can demand anything but they can withhold their belief.

No. They don't care about GWR, what they care about is convincing everyone else that they did it and convincing people that they believe they did it. It's putting on a convincing show. But. They know they didn't, GWR knows, and anybody who has run a few times a week knows she didn't.

Sounds like LRC. People keep repeating same shit over and over...even though we understood it the first time. Yep they likely lied about the total distance but we keep seeing the same crap posted over and over.
BTW, we already know that British charities are pretty much all a scam. So we don't need to continue down that path forever.

These threads do go on far too long with lots of repetition, but it does seem to be somewhat fuelled by either trolls or the supporters of the cheaters. A bit of an effort to counterbalance repeated lies with repeated truth.
But, fraudsters and scammers are nothing new. The internet, and especially social media, have just allowed different platforms for fraud. But it's a double edged sword because it also allows more people to look into what they are doing. For the most part I actually don't care if these sorts of people convince others to give them money. If someone wants to give away their money and don't want to look into the matter before doing so, that's their problem. Although, I am sure there are some true "victims", people who really aren't able to figure these sorts of things out for themselves and wouldn't give if they knew the truth but I doubt they give enough money to be actually hurt by it.
BTW - the original blueprint for this sort of "donation" scam is religion. No ability to prove your assertions, demand people just have faith, and give give give.
