Everyone talking about he transferred because of cost are silly.
He spends 2 1/2 years paying out of state at Iowa State, gets suspended and then decides to budget shop an education?
I think much of the reasoning boils down to:
1) Run away from the ISU situation/reality
2) closer to home so Mommy and Daddy could provide a layer of protection.
3) Lack of options due to catching heat from ISU situation
4) Less testing and thinking he would get less scrutiny in D3
I know for a fact he messaged an SEC coach when he got in the portal. Coach was really considering taking him. Told him not to because of the situation at Iowa State. So point 3 is an absolute fact
Wow! It is an absolute honor to be in the virtual presence of an all-knowing man who knows for certain that out of all D3 schools, for every year, and for every high level athlete that there has never been athletic aid given under the guise of academic aid.
This is a humbling experience. Thank you for blessing us with your knowledge honorable one.
Again, worth pointing out, all of the chief SC defenders here have the exact same posting pattern: no quotes and short, terse responses with almost zero context.
It's almost as if it's the same incompetent person!
Quoting is a waste of space. Quoting something is appropriate when the quoted information is not included in the body of the literature, media, article, etc. I guess you are saying you don't know how to click the link to the thread being responded to. I will forgive you for being incapable of accomplishing that.
And if you are claiming that I have defended him, you are incorrect.

Highly doubt he was a walk on at Iowa state paying out of state tuition. He was likely getting enough scholarship to cover tuition, it’s rare to see an out of state athlete go to an out of state public school unless they’re getting aid.
To address the “suspicion” of D3 guys staying D3 when they get fast, you gotta remember transferring means ditching your friends/teammates and moving further away from family after 2-3 years of a good thing happening. In the case of WIAC schools, there’s no “shame” being a D3 athlete in Wisconsin. The Badgers used to be the dream school (Byrne has made it lose its luster some), but kids would rather go to a WIAC than Marquette or Milwaukee. Not always about the money or “glory” of D1.
Tuition would require a 75% scholarship for an out of state kid. The team was loaded during his time there, not just loaded with distance runners. They were very good in several event groups. Good teams pay for scoring. A 4th place finish at conference is worth 50%. He wasn't close to scoring which equals nothing.
Just for the record, there has long since been speculation that top D3 athletes, especially those who are D1-level quick in high school, are receiving athletic aid disguised as academic merit aid. The reality is, it is impossible to disentangle whether such athletes are actually deserving of this aid, so the observation does not mean much — but it’s worth stating, I reckon.
I don’t know what it is like now, but back in the day this was absolutely happening. It is funny all the posters here that get caught up on athletic scholarships as if that is the only way to cover school costs.
People robbed banks when you were in college also. That doesn't make it legal, nor ethical, nor worth the risk of getting caught.
Ok buddy. In the era of NIL it is all just a sandcastle anyway.
OK, we're all getting distracted by this detour.
Let's get back to what is likely true: Seth cheated and got caught with EPO on ISU. He got suspended and told that he was done on the team. He then left school on his own accord -- which is different than leaving the team on his own accord -- and apparently reached out to many schools before deciding to head back home to Rowan. Rowan either didn't reach out to ISU at all, or ISU didn't disclose anything, and SC is given the green-light to compete, despite potentially continuing to use EPO, per the leaked video that showed an order being delivered in his name to his grandfather's address well after the ISU suspension occured.

Whew.
Do you have verifiable evidence about EPO being posted to his grandfather's address otherwise it is hearsay and unsubstantiated.
To be honest vilifying this runner even if he did cross the line is unhealthy and shouldn't be displayed all over the public forum - he's going to have to deal with this one way or another at some point and continuing to drag his name through the mud for months on end is not productive or good for anybody. This negativity is a very very poor vibe.

This reminds me of the saga with regard to the Los Angeles over 70 Doctor, a few years ago, who was running very fast marathons under three hours who eventually took his life because of ongoing harassment on the internet and no one deserves that and Seth deserves to be heard and understood before facing all this condemnation - it's not fair.
Link to live results for this conference meet today.
Seth will be joined by the following Rowan teammates in the Mile and 3000m. At this point, I am not only suspicious of Seth but the Rowan team as a whole. We know other college coaches passed on Seth. Why is Rowan standing by him?
