Women runs 520 miles on treadmill in 7 days but doesn't get WR as Guinness says her witness doesn't count

Isn't the video from the first day where she claimed to do 60 miles? If she really did 70 then perhaps her real mileage is 1.16*520=607

Wow, can't believe you actually went through a 12 hour video in that amount of detail. It will be interesting to see if the manual checks of her speed and distances matches up with the calculation from the automated script that I'm working on.

I think your math is a bit off. Amy claimed 100 km (62 miles) for the first day. So an estimate for her to mileage could be:

62 + 70 x 6 = 482 miles

She doesn't even start running in the video until around 1 hr 19 minutes so I think the "break" numbers posted above are wrong.

62 + 70 x 6 = 482 miles

But the other guy has shown she underestimated the 62 mile day by as much as 16%!

It wasn't that onerous. I skipped in 10-20secs bursts until I saw a change of pace and would then go back to identify the exact time when it changed. You can't miss anything if you watch every 20secs.

It's pretty easy though. Just made a list of times and then allocated what she did during the last section and how long for. Easy to total it all up. And there's an inherent check in there because you know they total of Run + Walk + Breaks = 11hr55.

There's obviously some rounding errors as the moment when it switches from run to walk takes place over a couple of seconds but we're looking at a ball park figure here.

And I gave Amy the benefit of the doubt wherever possible with the faster speed.

The other thing I noticed was the quickness of change from run to walk shows that there's very little difference between the speeds. It's certainly not like she's going from 8mph to 4mph and vice versa.

For clarity this is the video I used. It's clear she's running from the beginning of the video, not missing the first 1hr19.

I don't think that is what he did. He was not looking at the Day 1 footage. It is publicly known that Amy Hughes didn't even make her target mileage on Day 1 from her selfie video and she claimed to have done multiple "fast" 10 k runs on the later days to make up for it and pull ahead of the record from her podcast interview on YouTube.

As are those who can't tell the difference between "lose" (verb) and "loose" (adjective).

As are those who can't understand that if someone makes a claim of a world record, everyone else has a right to ask pertinent questions and not take "I just did it" as evidence.

A couple weeks after Amy Hughes and Dave Keighley got disappointed by Guinness World of Records, we still haven't seen any evidence of Amy's record attempt.

Dave should have published his notes, but he choose not to.

I think that says it all: THERE is NO EVIDENCE.

This thread will go on for another 155 pages but I am convinced that we won't see more running evidence from Amy and Dave.

If they are smart they will not provide anything, not go on the offensive, and just keep up the poor innocent picked on girl routine. With no new information the flame of this controversy will be deprived of oxygen and fade away.

Now, that doesn't stop us from getting information ourselves to keep it alive. The Millet sports videos seem to be our best and only hope.

After constant questioning via the Skins website, Jamie could see something was up so he commissioned the Ross Tucker scientific investigation into the affair. Final result: negative publicity turned into positive for Skins. I don't see this thread going away anytime soon so publicity for Millet sports will be negative until it does.

But that was just Skins marketing strategy they always used.

This might sound harsh, and it is, but it is true.

Amy Hughes is a cry baby who has publicly lied in order to try and be recognised for something that she did not acheive. She is also a human being.

She claims that there is 24x7 footage of her challenge on YouTube. There isn't.

She claims that there were other witnesses to the challenge. There were not (passers by don't count as they only witnessed short sections).

She does not (and did not after the challenge) have the physique of a person who has run 521 miles in one week. This is not an insult, it's a compliment - she has a wonderful physique.

She clearly has a need for validation which may or may not be unhealthy but appears to be a potential reason behind her desire to be an official world record holder.

Amy is a human being and we can only speculate as to why she has told lies and lashed out against those who have sought to validate her claims. This episode has not yet reached its climax but is going to end very badly for Amy and she will need the love, support and understanding of those around her to get through it.
