So why allow and contribute to the frenzy over Vaz and not RY? There is no difference. Both claims are just as silly.

No one expected you to call him out before it started and say it was impossible.

You say you think you could do 100k a day, but this is not what RY was claiming. His early faked mileage was 80 miles a day for 20 days on average.

Clearly you hadnt looked at his claims as they are as absurd as Vaz. 100k a day is very tough anyway. I think you averaged 40 didnt you?

You are still defending RY by saying you still cant believe he cheated, though you must surely know he has.

Because though I stood fully behind what I wrote, both online and in the national press it still would have cost me money to defend if the person who threatened was silly enough to proceed. I said I had my fingers burned. It didn't stop me writing about it, it didn't stop me speaking to other newspapers and being quoted in them and it didn't and wouldn't have stopped me because I knew I was right and what I said was true. It gave me pause for thought. That's it. Rightly or wrongly I stand by what I write, under my own name and with only the legal protection I can afford. Even stupid legal cases cost money

I'm guessing that you haven't read every post in this thread (very entertaining if you do have the time by the way!) but early on there were two runners who had ran with RY on earlier runs, who were backing him. These were Andy Persson and CoachKev (can't remember his real name).

Were these both supporting him on your forum? Andy seemed a reasonable person (he was hoping everything was legit and once the evidence became overwhelming he stopped posting) whilst CoachKev seemed to live in a complete fantasy land.

Just wondering whether the posters who initially tried to defend RY here, were the same ones defending him on your board?

So read this thread. You obviously havent. You do zero research on this guy and flippantly dismiss weeks of hard work done by folks on here.

No, there is nothing else to this other than a cheat deliberately scamming people to get attention and a funded lifestyle.

By refusing to accept he cheated you are defending him

Yes they have been, when it suits you. You wont allow insults about RY but allow them about others when it suits you.

The names are familiar but I can't say for sure. The vast majority of people on our board were in a kind of middle ground at the beginning, they wanted to believe because of what RY stood for but the evidence was mounting up and becoming too compelling to ignore. In the end it became a weird face off between fake profiles in the RY camp and fake profiles in the RY is a cheater camp. There was very little middle ground to be had.

It seems to me as there will always be people who'll defend him but his credibility is shot in the UK endurance circuit. But that's not where he finds his support anyway. I have another piece coming out in a week or two that talks about another aspect of his empire so if it gets picked up that may change but I don't know. I think he's like Nike now, people who love running hate the fact they support drug cheats but the general public just don't care.

Dont be silly. Vaz couldnt have sued for what you said, and what you said about him was all correct, and you should be doing the same for RY. Once the investigation is complete i hope you will do for RY what you did for vaz

So why call vaz a cheat then? You were happy to cause a total frenzy over him.

Vaz could sue, just because it's rubbish doesn't mean he can't make me go to the expense of defending it. And if he withdraws before going to court then I still end up paying my solicitor the fees because I can't claim back costs. It all comes down to money. And I don't have a lot.

And as it happens I do have something in the pipeline about RY. And it's certainly not defending him.

As long as people keep posting on this thread, and it gets lots of people viewing it, then SKINS will feel forced to act. If this gets no more comments then in three months SKINS could drop the investigation, no one would be in uproar and RY could continue with what he is doing.

We're not talking about RY riding just a couple miles here or there in the RV when he was tired. We're talking about hundreds of miles out west at night in remote places when no one was watching. Do you really think he ran a 2:30 marathon at altitude in the midst of 80-mile days of a transcon? How is that not blatant cheating that shouldn't be called out or at least exposed and questioned? How do you just sweep that under the rug and say, Maybe there's some other explanation? How do you not call that out?

Read the whole thread. The way RY "ran" from the California desert, across Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Kansas until he got scrutinized is completely different than the way he ran his first 3 days and then under the watchful eye of true ultrarunners for his last 5 days. And data is blurry, sketchy, missing, and altered only for those huge miles and fast paces in that section that is under question.
