I guess we shouldn't dash their dreams but it ticks me off that this guy is pulling this over on people.

I think he's fooling some people, but I believe the majority of the facebook responses are either Dustin (or some of their friends) or 'bought' FB friends.

Notice that the defenders aren't as strong as they were when the cheat was brought out in the open.

I noticed the Fake Rob Young stava seems to consistently add a little bit of moving time/mileage. Click to his partner (the real RY) on that activity and you'll see. Could be an artifact of the website used to download the files or if they were run through another software prior to being uploaded, idk.

It looks like it's because the Fake Rob Young GPX files are rounded to 5 decimal places for the lat/lon coordinates, while the real Rob Young GPX files use 6 decimal places. The rounding appears to be precise and consistent (it rounds up if 5 or greater, rounds down otherwise), and seems to be the only difference in the files. The rounding must create slightly larger jumps between track points than there would be otherwise, padding the overall total.

I'm not sure where the rounding came from, since both GPX files I'm looking at apparently used the same extension ("Exported from Strava via extension e-ivanov.ru"). Maybe it happens on the uploading side? Every GPX upload loses a decimal point of precision?

The good news is that the non-timestamped files (which were downloaded the Strava-approved way) appear to use 7 decimal places (with the 7th place always "0"), so they have the same precision (and thus, show the same mileage) as the Real Rob Young files.

Even as someone who has been following this thread from day 1 this was very hard to compile. It simply isn't possible to sort through this thread, and the google doc doesn't have a lot of context in it. Without more high level, easy to understand material, our accusations won't get much traction.

Maybe your summary should be emailed to the whoever wrote the guardian article, and others. There needs to be a follow up to the original story.

Follow up will be an expose book on the whole saga (which will be sold for movie rights).

Should probably put both 'independent' and 'investigation' in single-quotes, since I doubt very much that whatever theatrical bulls**t Mr. Fuller's gonna produce will remotely qualify as either.

(Though, at this point, you guys have done such an absolutely stunning, brilliant job of PROVING beyond any shadow of doubt, about fifty times over, that this scumbag is 100% fraud,... Mr Fuller may just be absolutely forced to accede to reality.

I mean, if he tries to deny every piece of overwhelming evidence you guys have come up with, he's really gonna look like the stupidest AND most dishonest CEO in history.

I'm pretty confident he had no interest in accepting the truth, but you guys have probably given him absolutely no choice in the matter.)

OK I liked this new development. Here it is:

Robbie Rob is going to deny it no matter the outcome of the expert assessment. He's got no future if he admits to it and he'll have a hint of hope with what few loyalists continue hanging on to him.

Skins will lean on the expert to say it is inconclusive and as such Skins is neither in the wrong or right, but will sever ties with Robbie Rob just to appease the masses.

A few years down the road, we'll see Rippin' Robby try out some new scheme, maybe cross country skiing across Siberia. No way anyone will catch him on video there.

I'm continuing to grow disappointed in Skins. I get that they needed stand by Rob from the get go, but we were promised an expert several days ago that we'd all be very happy about. Haven't heard a peep or a name since. I'm guessing Skins is doing a deep dive of the data to see how much of a shit storm this is going to be and if they are going to just wave the white flag or help cleanse the sketch datas.
