Official Covid Vaccine thread

As for kids, I have aa 4 year old. The more time passes, the more hesitant I am to get him vaxxed. 3 months ago, I couldn't wait to get him vaxxed. Then it came out that the two does regimen they were testing on 0-4 year olds didn't work and they were delaying everything for 3-4 months as they were going to try a third dose. Since then, it's also come out that natural immunity for a kid is very long loasting.

Now yesterday, we've learned the CDC has begged Pfizer to apply for an emergency use approval for the two-dose regimen that they know doesn't work. The theory it doesn't do harm so we want to get it started now so in case the three does regime works, we will be 66% of the way there when that is approved.

Are people crazy? DO they not understand decisions like this make people doubt vaccines?

How much would that cost? Covid is such a tiny risk to healthy 0-4 year olds the world would be WAY better off if we spend all of that money (how much does it cost for 3 doses to be administered $100?) to simply be shipped to Africa to help with some preventable disease.

Now I have a immunocrompoised close family member so we'll probably almost certainly still get my son vaxxed but I'm verhemently opposed to vax mandates for kids.

I am also fully vaccinated, and currently have it. Seems like a bad cold to me. I had something right before we learned of this, and it was much worse. Fever and chills, followed by three months of an awful cough.

Also, allowing for natural immunity and merely trying to protect the MOST VULNERABLE was always the way forward. Immunology 101.

I can only hope the triple and four times vaxxed don’t develop cardiovascular, neurological, & cancer-related events owing to the vaccines. There is a risk associated with taking the vaccines, beyond all of the VAERS events, which are underreported. This is far from definitive.

Vaccinating young children in this “pandemic of the mostly elderly and overweight w comorbidity” is one of the dumbest things of all. We have early treatment. In fact, we’ve always had early treatments.

I should say, convalescent, unvaxxed colleagues. We’ve all had Covid.

If you are old, it is foolish not to get vaccinated. If you are under 25, there is no compelling reason to get vaccinated (especially with the high incidence of breakthrough infection). There is no real evidence that vaccination outperforms natural immunity for those who have already been infected.

The data suggests that the unvaxxed make up the bulk of deaths in the US and other countries.

Data > anecdotes. Surely you learned this at some point in your schooling :)

But please, carry on with baseless vaccine fearmongering. You seem to be terrified of cardiovascular and other events after vaccination, well, they are much more common after one (or more) bouts of COVID. Good luck my terrified friend!

Israeli data shows that vaccination brings 'long-covid' symptoms back to baseline. I.e. the vaccine greatly reduces the risk of lingering effects of a COVID infection.

Who believes all this science stuff like what the researchers at the University of Johannesburg put out in December when they estimated the infection fatality rate of omicron was less than the typical seasonal flu. Its so much easier to do what you're told and get 3 or 4 shots of mRNA goop - and still get sick.
