Thank you for those who did respond & were helpful. Sounds like timeframe to coming back is more like 3-4 weeks. I'm 2 weeks post symptoms. Feel like some people have been fine at this point but I'm definitely not. Still get short of breath on anything that goes from easy effort closer to threshold. Only tried that one run at the end of last week & felt horrible. Will try a short jog again this week mid-week. Been doing a lot of easy indoor biking. That doesn't feel bad but if I'm under 200 watts my heart rate is going to be stay under 130. Been doing stuff with average HR more like 115-125 for an hour or less.
Sorry to hear this. Recovery for me was really unpredictable. I felt pretty normal for a whole week straight about 3 weeks post symptoms, but I had fatigue showing up off and on, usually for several days in a row, up to 20 weeks later. Getting vaccinated gave me another 4 weeks of periodic fatigue after that. A lot of days I'd feel fine, head out the door for a workout, and get hit with fatigue after 10 steps. There were normal days, and a lot of fatigue days with slow 2-mile runs, and a few days where I could sort of gently ease into normal running. It was like being in marathon recovery for six months. I could push the limits a little bit to return to fitness, but very, very gently.
