Let me put it in this way, based on assumptions what you can run.
Like some people train for a sub3 marathon, because they are (like you think 22:30 5k) confinced they can do it, therefore making assumptions they actually can run it.
You can fill in the rest, or can you
You don't understand the Dancan System. Every training session done during a build up for a race gives all the information I need to quite exact predict racetime possible. As a fresh example of this a lady master ( 50+ age) I coach. Not long ago she ran 4:35 marathon and hired me for coaching . We had only short time to prepare her for next marathon but the week before the race I adviced her out from the training results done with me to play it safe and shot for a 4:20 marathon. She ran 4:19 and was very happy. .....🧙♂️

I understand it very well, so you are wrong in your assumption....again lol.
Good for the lady master, but i would have her run it even in a better time with my system.
Had a master runner run his marathon a minute per km faster than his pr...4:20--> 3:16.

Not a chance in that short time I prepared her. The Dancan System of mine is superior. 🇸🇪🧙♂️🇸🇪

So,so happy with todays threshold interval. 🖐🧙♂️💪
25 x 1 min @ 4:55 pace and easy walk rest back to 120 bpm in 40-60 sec .
Really feel strong now and I just keep on improve. After training and after shower I weight myself and now only 81 kilograms! Then after, some leftovers Tacos as a well tasting dinner. Now enjoy the yearly Swedish final in the Eurovision song contest . Music has always been one of my many favourite interests besides running. I have written a couple of songs myself as " Let's party tonight" and " Hold me now" and " Come on everybody" . 🖐🧙♂️🖐🕺

is it standard operating procedure for runners to give their baseline weight from after 60 minutes of sweating their a$$ off?

Haha! Well, there has been some talk about my weight here at different threads on LRC . My longtime stalkers even still sometimes call me " fat Jan ". Now when I'm down to 81kg they probably stop this part of their harrasment. Today just relaxed from running and went to see my hometown team Vänersborg in final match in qualification to stay in the elite division of bandy ( on ice , like hockey with a little ball instead of a puck) . They won 6-2 and now is ready for top division even next season.A nice day.... 🖐🧙♂️🖐
Today energy " batteries" reloaded after Sunday off and I ran with a very easy relaxed feeling and breathing 60 min at 6:38 min pace . 🇸🇪🧙♂️🇸🇪
At the moment I see this pace drives my pulse up to around 75% of maxheartrate( zone 3) If I would lower the pace to give only 60- 69 % of maxheartrate I see it would interfer with my biomechanical stride and " good runfeeling" . I see it would be too slow to avoid the easy runs to feel like just a very brisk walk. Then to be said I'm not against so called zone 2 running ( 60- 70 % of mhr) , but it should only be used when the body needs it due to a harder workout or race the day before . 🧙♂️

But than again, you will lose 2kg. O wait.
With my mostly easy steady runs in zone 3 I have lost around 7 kg in little more than two months. 😉🤔

A bit like remember when you didn't know what subthreshold was, you clearly have no idea about zone 2 training.
