Robert Young fakes run across America

Any chance Strava keeps data backup even though these asshats deleted the files? Anyone have friends at Strava?

It means that the gps tracked a 2-mile stretch somewhere in the activity in 8:57 -- not altitude adjusted. He's Legend.

Correct. Strava calculates any 'award' using realtime not clock time. So if you run a mile split in 7 min but stop the clock for 3 min in the middle to do some handstands then it would be calculated as a 10 min mile for 'award' purposes.

Interesting when you zoom into his maps on his faster runs he is always running the dead center of the road as if he was in a car.

when I zoom into the slow ones he appears to be on the verge.

Yes, exactly.

And Strava does not use "grade adjusted pace" for that, it's just the actual times.

28 miles at a 7:36 average. Miles 25, 26, 27 and 28 - all at about 5:30 pace.

also, strava estimates the best 400m, 1/2 mi, 1k, 1 mi, 2 mi, 5k, etc... efforts at the time of the upload, so it can become stale. For example, if he uploads something for 6/4 and it says "best estimated 2 mile effort in 10:57" and then uploads something for 5//19 at "8:57", the original 6/4 effort will still have "best estimated 2 mile effort" for that activity.

Fastest 2 mile stretch is only 11:47 which is why I thought the "best estimated 2 mile effort" at 8:57 might be a conversion to flat course at sea level.

That part checked out from the RV Tracker too anyway. You could see where they backtracked to get him. Unfortunately, after backtracking to get him, they took right back off at that same asinine pace immediately after... if he was too tired to run that pace through town, how did he suddenly get so invigorated to be able to run that pace again immediately after the RV gets back to him?

But it also kills their 3rd version story about how you missed him because he got too far behind the RV... that bar backtrack happened an hour before you got to the RV.

Actually, it is more ridiculous. The subsequent 3 runs are:

5.5m @ 5:52 pace

11.6m @ 6:07 pace

8.2m @ 6:07 pace

So that's a total of about 50 miles under 6m pace.

The fastest 2 miles does not have to start from an exact mile split, if that's what you mean... Don't know how you would be determining that...
