Have a TomTom account, signed up for Strava a couple weeks ago (just for this thread). Current workouts will upload immediately to Strava, if you want to upload previous workouts, you have to download the GPX file and upload it to Strava.
Current workouts say TomTom, older workouts say GPX.
I uploaded 8 months worth of workouts in about 10 minutes, it's not hard if you're not trying to manipulate the data.
Does the TomTom record cadence? Does the downloaded GPX have that? Should he have used TCX format instead for that?
TomTom records cadence, it does not carry over to Strava using GPX. No idea about TBX, can look into it when I'm home and sober tomorrow, if no one else has answered the question.

Yep, miles 13.5-17 and 21.4 to finish, all uphill. Amazing paces.
This is PR record pace for his marathon. But you will see that he even walked about a mile at the start and also about a mile elsewhere. Notice the pace graph.

But his per mile splits show minimal elevation changes with each mile. Could it be the elevation was not being tracked by the watch in the RV? And the map below provides recorded elevation based on coordinates?

Ignore this. I wasn't looking at the proper mileage. It appears both the map below and his splits are the same reflecting elevation changes. He is just racing up mountains with ease.

I remember looking at that section back when this thread was only double digits of pages. Ridiculous paces. The 5:08, 5:04, 5:07, 5:14 jump off the screen. I guess it was hard braking the RV downhill.
But notice 0.0 to 6.1 goes from 8500' to 9400' and he's running 5:54, 5:49, 6:01, 6:02, 6:16, 6:30. Lol. That would be the highest altitude of his journey, btw.

Elevation is calculated by strava, which ignores gps elevation

So in some of the strava data, I see "best estimated" race "efforts" (everything from mile, 2mile, half marathon, 30k, etc.). Does that mean that RY covered that distance in that run somewhere? Or is that converting 2 miles of his run uphill at altitude to its rough equivalent at sea level on a flat course?
On this 26.8 mile run on May 19 (which has since disappeared, but it's still open on my computer), Strava says "best estimated 2 mile effort" in 8:57. Does that mean he covered 2 miles in 8:57 in that run somewhere?
If so, 4:29/mile for 2 miles would be pretty impressive in a 26.8 mile run mostly uphill at altitude.
Shouldn't strava show the device type as TomTom? Seems this a from a gpx file, as opposed from the watch directly, so could have easily been massaged. May also be needed to remove the TomTom cadence data.
