Guess I'll put away that bagel I was about to make and have a tall glass of nothing for breakfast.
What are you talking about? Have you ever seen the elite field in any race? Rupp is 5'11" 134.

Wow I ran 2:48 back in 1996-2000 and 58:00 for 10 miles, 17:05 for 5k never above 70 a week and I weighed 125 at 5'5" ....FWIW when I went to the trials I felt large but happy...never had a diet program...

I weigh closer to 106-108 (or 110 with a food baby) when my mileage dips below 70. It actually seems to stay close to that number when I'm between 30 and 70 miles per week, but I definitely eat more at 70+ miles. As I get older, I try to eat more fruits and vegetables, but I never deprive myself of food when I'm hungry. In short, this is just what my body looks like when I exercise. That said, I don't look unhealthy. I just have super narrow hips, very little curviness, small bust.
It seems to me that there are two somewhat contradictory truths about running and body weight. 1. Being lean and light is an advantage, and 2. You cannot and should not force (or encourage?) a person to reach an arbitrary goal weight based on height.

I hate(d) the 5k. Something about holding that pace beyond 2k never worked for me.

That seemed real light and skinny.
Never made any efforts to change my weight, that’s simply what I was at that training level and ate whatever.
Would have liked to have been heavier.

As a Master similar weight, age graded (in 50s) equivalents 14:58 5k, 31:28 - placed in USATF Masters Championships four times.
Definitely a bit heavy, but that's as light as I ever really got even training hard in my 20s.
I'm probably an anomaly - I've got quite a bit of fast-twitch, so I was a slow sprinter with a big V02 max. It worked well for a big kick if I could get everyone to run slowly enough!

Wow, that’s some versatility right there. Looks like your weight fluctuates a lot based on the distance. There has got to be a story to go along with these numbers.
That's due to Einstein's relativity. Mass of an object increases with it's speed.

Now 5'9" and 135lbs, and a whole lot slower (1:29ish for half), but there are a lot of other variables there (not being 17 comes to mind), so while being a healthy 120 lbs at this height sure helped, there's more going on there than just weight.

That was in my early 20s. It's hard for me to get under 170 anymore and am usually at about 178 almost 20 years later. Can still run around 57 for 400 with no training. Not too bad at 40.
