She was full of running, she was catching the Japanese very quickly, another 1km and she would ahve caught her, she defnitely had enough in the tank to ahve run faster she just misjudged it.
As for Radcliffe, she has only one tactic, which we all know about, if she was feeling so bad in Athens and was so sure she could not produce a good performance why was she leading after 5k? Surely she should have been taking an easy a ride as possible, she may well be the fastest out there but tactically she is inept, she has proven this time and time again, and more often than not the athlete who is not necessarily the fastest runner but is the most intelligent tactically wins it, see Baldini....
