The idea that I'm suspicious of someone because they are black is absurd. The reality is this website was barely two years old and I was told that Alberto Salazar hated me and this website because we allowed talk about alleged drug usage at Athletics West to be discussed on this board. Over the years, the amount of drug discussions about Salazar/Galen Rupp has been all over this board. Last time I checked, Rupp was white.

My demand that Coleman be tested every day comes as a frustrated fan. I mean why should we believe in any of this crap anymore? If someone was tested every single day, then maybe I'd start to believe in it.

I know a drug test every day isn't practical but you could do a urine test every day.

I agree with him on comparing Christian to the ex Toledo coach. Although unless I'm wrong what Kevin did doesn't make him a sex offender, although definitely a scumbag. That comparison is uncalled for and has nothing to do with the doping allegations. Cue Kevin coming on for a response in 3, 2, 1... Seriously every time the guys name is mentioned even on a semi-anonymous board he can't help but respond. Most would have the good sense to go away and shut up.

But the other comparisons are fair. Lance passed how many tests in his career? A lot more the Christian. No world-class track athlete is above suspicion, especially one who missed 3 tests in a year. Although a couple of these did genuinely sound like carelessness and not test dodging.

As far as him getting off on a technicality call it what you will. But it was a stupid dating method setup by incompetent beurocrats some may call it a technicality some may not. If you have to explain to the public that the 3 tests although in a 12 month period don't count within a year because one of the testers showed up to administer the test at 7:55 but for some reason it took them 6 minutes to call Christian which took it one minute outside of the window which caused the test to be dated differently than the others I think interpreting it as a technicality is reasonable.

So in other words, Coleman DIDN"T ensure his 60m WR had an immediate post-race drug test like Emma went to the troubles, for even a minor thing like USA women's steeplechase record!! Instead he WAITED until a dodgy 2am self-desired diner peeing. Is it any wonder track is so cynical?

Now guess which one says "immediate", and which one says "24 hours"...??

American Records (the rules (even back then) actually say "at the end of the event", but the USATF guide says within 24 hours FSR)

American Records (events outlined in USATF Competition Manual) for senior level athletes must be ratified via drug testing within 24 hours of the completion of the athlete’s event. This does not apply to youth, U20 and master level events.

Backed down? I didn't back down at all. I just explained the thought process of everything. When you are recording a podcast live, you don't get time to edit your arguments so I was explaining why I want a test every day and why I talked about the Hadsell post. The fact that Hadsell posted in the thread was amazingly entertaining and I wanted to share it with our podcast listeners. Most people aren't on page 5 of a thread so I wanted to share with them an amazing post from the messageboard.

I never said Coleman had anything to do with sexual misconduct. I was just using the argument made by Hadsell that passing drug tests doesn't mean much. The fact that Hadsell made the argument is something I shared as I imagine most people found it to be fascinating.

My job is mainly to curate all of the info that is out there about running and share the most entertaining/newsworthy news I find. His post definitely fits that bill.

What seems more probable is 6:55 arrival and 7:01 testing attempt... for a 7-to-8 whereabouts window.
