This is further showing that no one from this U.S. group, except maybe Webb (and maybe Lagat of course), will break 13:00. It's completely foolish to pin 13:00 on every decent U.S. runner. You have to be very special, and only Webb is that. When are Ritz and Goucher going to get there like everybody said a few years ago? I'm not doing and "I told you so"...but instead waking everyone up to RESPECT WHAT BK DID and to quit shortchanging it.

Most of the time, our best 5K'ers race closer to 14:00.

i had the impression that Bekele looked back to see how fast he has to run to win, he was running 13:00 pace for 4k-easy pay day, he just didn't want to run hard.

Abdi and Broe (about one second off his PR) ran terrifically and Hall anc Culpepper did very well also. Abdi may be able to challenge the American 10k record and it's nice to see Hall show some consistency with three fine races in a row now.

11 guys at 13:25 or better, 4 guys sub 13:20. Probably the deepest year for US 5k runners in a long time, at least since the early/mid 80s. And a good mix of young guys right out of college, all the way to a guy who's 33

Wow. Used to be Kennedy and Williams in the 5k and Williams and a bunch of marathoners in the 10k. USA is having some good years.

I thought Adam Goucher was running in this race...? Did I miss something or what?
