Why was it a horrible day for NOP? They were obviously all running this as a workout. Most of them ran multiple races with less than an hour to recover in between each.

Maybe it wasn't that bad apart from Klosterhalfen. She ran 2:07 with 59 / 68 splits to get last place by 3 seconds in the fast heat... that would be a weird way to do a workout.
She is a 5K runner running an 800. She ran the 1500 and got 3rd in it about 30 minutes later.

Yes it is bad. she can run sub2 and has done so multiple times before. the 800m very crazy bad

It probably did not quite go as planned in LA, but she has run sub 2 exactly once two years ago (when she ran sub 15, sub 2, sub 4 within 3 weeks) and it's been almost two years that she ran an 800m race at all. And she has tied up an ran very positive splits in such races before (like 58 - 65), although hardly ever so badly. I guess she tied up at 500m or so and decided not to force it because of the second race not long afterwards.
The 1500m race was pretty good considering the 800m before and overall it had the character of a workout/test (maybe not successful).
Or maybe you are right, she is done and will quit and get back to modelling...
I had a chance to watch the races now. Klosterhalfen did indeed look horrible in the 800, completely tied up around 550m already. In the 1500m she looks much better but shows her familiar bad running strategy when trying to run "defensively". Despite spending almost the whole race on lane 2 she manages to get involved in some pushing and shoving. She goes from 7-8th to 3rd on the last lap, so I think she could have made at least 2nd place with better tactics.
As for the women's 5k this was PBs served on a silver platter with perfect pacing. Praught should be able to improve further in the steeple with such an improvement over 5k.
