Yeah, OP, If a man could put in literally limitless training without getting injured, he could do a lot of stuff. But we can't.
If Jenny Simpson could average 200 MPW, do an interval workout every day, lift like a sprinter, and never experience overtraining, injury, unnecessary bulking up, or sickness from doing so, she'd break all those records too.

The top women are genetic 'freaks', not just for men but for all humans. Genetics will prevent a large number of males from even getting remotely close to the top female times .
Height and weight are not always good indicators of genetic ability.
I do not believe "any" men would have a difficult time getting close to national class times in the US for that man's best event.
Lets just use the mile as an example. There are thousands and thousands of men that would not be able to get anywhere near 4:12, even with years of training.

I've heard of this kid who was decent but not great freshman year of high school. Ran mid 16 XC 5k, 4:4x, 9:3x and played some soccer too. Thing is, he stuck with the same coach, got quality care for any illnesses that popped up and has since smoked every single one of those woman's WRs (except the steeple). Think his name is Gavin or Gallant or something like that

A freshman boy runs 9:30's for 2-mile in high school and you call that decent but not great?? That's a phenomenal time for a 14 or 15 year old boy.

This thread wouldn't be about super talented guys like Gavin but rather the 30 minute freshman.

There could be thousands upon thousands of guys that run a sub 65 half if the current culture was different. There is no value to the youth of today to dedicate themselves to running.
Our current best runners are mostly a self selected group of people. There is no true off season, it requires more dedication than most sports with how you diet, how you train, and your lifestyle. If there was value in doing that, if it was seen as prestigious, there would be many many more guys running "elite" times.
Think about it...if there were 10,000 guys running sub 65 every year in the US, that is still just 0.006% of the male population! Truth be told I'd bet there are 100,000 (which is just .06%) males in the US that could run those times if the dedication was there from say middle school on.
A man has to be a very good runner to beat any of the women's bests.
The best women are physically much better runners then even the average man.
Most people lack the speed to ever break 2 mins for 800m never mind 1:53.

You are right. Some people have no clue how fast certain times are and they discount how difficult it is to achieve fast track times.

Are you counting toddlers and octogenarians among the male population? No one under 15 or over 45 has ever run a sub 65.
