They're only a little over half way. It's hard to comprehend how much things can change in the second half of a mountain 100 miler. Those who took their time with their morning coffee and breakfast at Courmeyeur will benefit from it 5-6 hours down the trail.

Actually Ricky Gates has also been under 60 minutes. My memory was a little off. When Sage ran 58:27, that was the third fastest time ever.

I am sure one of the top 3 will hold on for a podium spot, but I could see two of them falling back big time.
