Thank you, KatRuns. Your post was the nicest one I've read. Actually, it might be the only nice one.
I'm done showing off my calves but I wonder, why are you guys irritated when I talk about split shorts all the time? It's our tradition to wear it? And yes, I say "our" because I am a runner, not a hobby jogger. Oh yeah, I didn't do T&F in high school. I didn't have that support system. And I'm sure not going to get it here on LetsRun. Everyone likes putting people down, but I hate people who do that. So I'll put you down because you guys get off from that.
I wanted to do forensic accounting because I hate how people get scammed and the lives that get ruined from it. So I was an accounting major but I quickly switched. I'll decide to put my distaste towards the vast majority of negative, condescending runners here.
And about peaking. Yes, I want to peak for a coach. I am very prideful, and I take pride in the school I'm in. What motivated me to take running seriously is because our NCAA1 athletes never win. I just hate that spirit. I see them running and being shirtless in their split shorts running with their teammates, but I can sense that yes, even if they are D1 standards, they don't come in first place. It's a quiet complacency and I want to add my strength to that team and REPRESENT.
A few of them know who I am but they probably know that I'm the slow guy. They've only ever seen me run on achilles tendinitis and ITB injuries. Or you know, I binge eat boneless chicken wings and then do that 5k the next day. I'm not on the team yet so I'm not super OCD about what I do.
I've decided that if any guy in his 20s or early 30s tries to outrun me, I will take that challenge because what matters is that you OUTKICK them. I'm not staying by them for a mile or two - that intimacy is too weird. But for a quarter to half to probably almost a mile, I will out pace them. And of course, middle distance is my specialty.
If you challenge what I'm saying right now, I just want to say that I do want to join my schools track team. My training methods are unconventional but I haven't felt as determined or alive pursuing running compared to even my studies.
I'm done with you guys obsessing OVER ME. It's summer season and time for base mileage.
Hush now.
