A woman may have the right to do what she wants with her body but the baby inside is not part of her body, it is merely inside of her body. Every cell in her body, and there are trillions of them, have identical DNA. Every cell in the baby's body has a different DNA from her's and therefore is not her body. She has no right to destroy someone else's body, especially an indefensible infant.

It seems so convenient to tell others what to do with their bodies. You say the woman cannot destroy the "baby's" body because it is not hers, yet requires her body to become viable and born. Ownership is proclaimed in every sense of the existence of that life form; it is her baby. So why do you have the ability to tell her what she can do within her own body when that body is not yours just as the "baby" is not part of her's, albeit symbiotic.
On a larger scale, the Pro Life crowd declares all the unborn children as an abhorrence and we should keep the lives as sacred but do little to provide for those that are born unwanted? Is the life only sacred enough to be born so you can rest your heart easy; where are the adoption services?
Beyond that, death penalties in justice and wars, where fully formed life is killed should be just as terrible as abortion if not worse. Your sacred Christ proclaimed "We are all born with sin and we should forgive all" Why is it okay for those deaths to be on society yet you leave the others for dead.

I blame our society's callous disregard for human life. The act of terminating a developing human life (saying that abortion is anything else is anti-science) because it will be a personal inconvenience is simply morally wrong.
She was not in a desperate situation. She could have taken the rest of the year off from track and been absolutely fine. Her soon to be husband had recently signed a five year, $13 million contract with $8 million guaranteed. The child would have given her infinitely more joy at a lower cost than the gold medal she didn't win.

Reflect on that paragraph again, and think about those words relative to a fetus. Acceptance, no judgment, love and care, do not ostracize and destroy, and serve something else other than your selfish needs. Jesus's teachings always direct us to love and care for the meek and vulnerable.

Unfortunately some of the major side effects of a copper IUD are increased bleeding and anemia. Most women have to try several different birth control methods before finding one where they don't experience side effects. Testing various birth control methods for 3-6 months at a time to figure out what works best for you can be tough for an elite athlete (not to mention you won't always be protected when switching between methods).

Ummm, it is not merely opinion that human life begins at conception, but a fact. Yet it can be argued that human life began a long time ago and has been transmitted ever since.
And why is it that advocates for abortion decry referring to a living unbon human being as a "baby?" A post in this thread adduced a passage in Shakespeare in which a character refers not to a "baby" in the womb but a "child." I'm sure many great writers have done so. Are you apoplectic yet?
