Is Tracksmith gonna make it?

I was recently given a bunch of Tracksmith gear foe a birthday present. It is quite good stuff. I was given Twilight long sleeve shirts, twilight tank, twilight split shorts, Van Cortlandt tank, and a pair of their socks.

Surprisingly, the socks are actually my favorite running sock I’ve worn. The twilight fabric (like 80/20 polyester/elastane) is very comfortable, though retains odor more than I would like. The twilight split shorts have a very comfy inner liner and I now wear these shorts most of the time instead of my BOAs. The twilight tank is great too. I don’t anticipate wearing the Van C tank much because I don’t like the diagonal stripe (lol), but I dig the horizontal stripe on the longsleeve twilight shirt (which I imagine will be a great shirt for autumn running and spring).

All in all, Tracksmith is pretty decent gear. More expensive than what I’ve paid for other brand apparell, but possibly worth it IMO

I hate that this is a thing, but I also see how useful it could be after winter workouts where you have a good bit of time between cooling down and actually getting somewhere warm/inside.

This thread is out of date, Tracksmith has clearly made it. Their gear is on the pricey side, but it's some of the most comfortable running gear out there.

Tracksmith going under...lots of layoffs...

Do you have a source - or is this just speculation? I thought they were doing well lately.

Not sure about layoffs, but I know they’re cash starved and noticed they cut back on their selections and inventory.

Tracksmith needs to focus better on digital if they want to save money. The glossy magazine catalogs they send out have to cost some $$, and they are not influencing me to buy the gear, but I’m sure I’m not the intended audience.

They have a lot of athletes going to Worlds, but is anyone going to buy an expensive tracksmith shirt because Cravont Charleston won the 100m and Rudy Winkler won the hammer?

Not sure I agree. I've always had the sense of Tracksmith as elitist. Wejo's buddy selling expensive gear to other rich people.

After reading the article, I like the brand much more. They're supporting the sport on the elite level in a way that no other company is doing. I don't run much these days, but next time I need new gear I'll consider them.

Matt's "Chasing" series back in the day set the table for Flotrack. I enjoyed a lot of his stuff.

I hope Tracksmith makes it. Their clothing is high quality and a nice change of pace from clothing from big box stores. I like the Session speed shorts and Session tights. Nice soft fabrics. Bunny logo is awesome too.
