What does this have to do with car building? I am confused.

Remember on the Joe Rogan podcast several months ago when Elon said a new development in "interface" between humans and computers would be coming out within a couple months?

Anyone heard anything about this?

If there is nothing there, this is just another example of hoe Elon's MO is to always over promise. I'm not saying his companies haven't done some great things, but the hype always outpaces the reality.

Elon Musk's latest widely covered SpaceX venture - a spaceship that the company envisions could take 100 passengers at a time to and from the moon and Mars - a ship that is supposed to compete with Boeing, Lockheed Martin and NASA's Space Launch System... has run into a slight bit of technical difficulty. It was blown over by the wind.

The cartoonish design of the Starship Hopper, plastered around social media over the last couple of weeks and Tweeted out by Elon Musk himself, has been something of a talking point. Musk posted an image of the completed spaceship weeks ago.

According to Musk, he had recently switched the material for the Starship Hopper from carbon fibre to stainless steel. Why? Because it was cheaper. In an interview with Popular Mechanics, Musk also mentioned that it was "actually the lightest" material he could have used.

The best thing about Tesla, is that they're goading other car manufacturers to be even dumber than they are.

Cadillac this month previewed an electric crossover expected in 2021 that will be the first vehicle to ride on GM's next-generation EV platform.

"We've got one chance. This is it," Reuss told Automotive News last week. "We will leave nothing on the table, but we've got to get there. ... We're going to get there."

Musk himself says: "There are some drawbacks to flying cars, essentially its a helicopter with wheels. They make a lot of noise, there's a lot of wind force and the probability of something falling on your head is much higher if there's a bunch of flying cars around." "That's why flying cars are completely impractical," Mason continues. "Cold gas thrusters are bloody noisy!" he proclaims.

Mason then goes on to debunk the idea of the Hyperloop, which is supposed to use low pressure vacuum technology for high speed travel. "It's more of soap box derby, instead of the future of transport," he says about Musk's Hyperloop ideas.

"It drives Elon Musk fans crazy when you tell them that he is not the visionary that invented the Hyperloop," Mason says, referring to the century old idea of a vactrain. "He just took somebody else's idea that was over 100 years old and gave it a new name."

The reason that no one has built one of these 600 mph vacuum trains is because it's "insanely difficult, insanely dangerous and insanely expensive to do," he says. The Hyperloop makes the flying car seem like a "cakewalk", Mason concludes, audibly trying to hold back laughter.
