If true, her behavior was deplorable, yet given Delta's practice, this shouldn't have happened in the first place. I've flown Delta exclusively for years and am Diamond Medallion. They typically have 2 separate boarding lines: one for Priority / Medallion passengers and one for the rest, with a very clear sign / placard designating each lane. After those needing assistance and those with children, the first class and Diamond Medallion passengers board next. But even AFTER they're done, that line stays open as others go through the normal line. If a 1st class or Medallion member misses the pre-board, they just walk up to the front of the Priority lane and the gate agent pauses to check them in. Only takes a moment to scan the ticket(s). I've done this numerous times and have NEVER been rebuffed by a gate agent. I wonder where Delta's system broke down?

Want to add that I disagree entirely with "missing key"'s conclusion that the Delta agent was discriminating against Farah's family. My point is simply that Delta policy was violated. As to WHY it was violated is simply conjecture.

What policy is that? Miss your boarding slot because you decide to be late, then demand the preferential treatment slot whose time has come and gone? You missed your slot and you wait until the next slot starts. The Lordly Farah's were allowed to proceed before that next slot started, but that wasn't good enough for them. Better to disrupt an orderly process. Once one person is allowed to do that, then others will take advantage, and the orderly process becomes unmanageable.

@Sit and Wait - you are wrong. Please learn to read.

They missed the initial priority boarding group. Then they tried to cut to the front of another PRIORITY boarding group. That's now how it works. They have to file in with all those people. If they had to wait until a general boarding group, then yes, that would go against Delta's normal policy/practice.

Another way of looking at it, if someone missed general boarding group 1, do they get to cut to the front of general boarding group 3? Or do they have to file in with that group like everyone else?
