- UKAD have since turned a blind eye to a member of the said athletes group trying to get answers on why a ban never happened and why this wasn't made public knowledge
The question that bothers me about this case is why are UKA covering for a good domestic athlete who will probably never go to a major games?
I am aware of what appears to be a systematic use of TUEs by UKA at the moment. Did they believe this case may be the straw that broke the camels back? IE the substance in question is the new meldonium?
Brojos - if you want more background on this please let me know where to email. This needs to be investigated further as it is hard to imagine this is the only case of it's kind in recent times.

If they have run a 3:39 PB THIS year, and they failed the test in Belgium LAST year, then it narrows it down to two.

Both fitzgibbon and Marshall have been with their respective coaches for a long time and are still with them now. Opening poster said the doper has been kicked out his training group so rules them two out. Which of the other 2 ran in Belgium last year?

As for "state-sponsored doping" in Kenya, proof? And not just a bunch of third-tier wannabes who failled tests because that does not constitute systematic state sponsored doping. We've always been better runners than you folk, and it kills you so much that all you have left is to drag Kenya into this as a distraction. Here we have a clear example of wilful cover up by UKA, which means they're probably doing the same for others because you as a people are just not athletically gifted enough to produce genuine world-beaters.

I never accused the Kenyan government of state sponsored doping. So stop flapping your arms about El Keniano. This isolated rumour about a 3:39 British runner is also not evidence of state sponsored doping.
This is a 'clear example' of nothing at all. This story has absolutely no evidence behind it whatsoever.
This ridiculous post getting any attention at all is 'clear evidence' of only one thing: many posters on this site, yourself included, are racist towards British people. I have never posted anything inflammatory about Kenyan people. I have only ever stated that based on a lack of drug testing and many positives from Kenyan runners that Kenya appears to have a PEDs problem. There is no racism there.

I heard about this - note that one of the 4 athletes has changed coaches recently. And others in the thread are clearly hinting who that is.

Apparently from a second hand source it was an innocent mistake taking prescribed medications that contained non-wada approved substances. The coach in question was livid at not being told by the athlete that they were taking the medication and told him to leave the group.

Things gradually become clearer.

If the medication was prescribed by a GP then a TUE would surely suffice, even a retrospectively granted TUE.

However if the athlete was using it without a prescription he should have been held to account. The trouble is if UKA were involved, having been trained in the darker arts by specialist coaches, we cant possibly rely on them acting with integrity. All they would do is cover their arses, again.

My source has told me that athlete actively researched a performance enhancing inhaler and "convinced" his doctor he needed it. He also opted not to pay for a TUE "because he didn't think he would ever get tested"

- to me this doesn't sound like an "honest mistake" more going out of your way to cheat and being lapse.

El Keniano, it is right and proper that you be proud of your country's distance running prowess. One minor point is that Kenya was not always better than the UK in distance running. In the 1980s, Kenya had some fine distance runners, but Ovett, Coe, Cram, Elliott, and Moorcroft, among others, proved the UK substantially better. The major point, however, is that Kenya has been mired in doping scandals, some of which have been facilitated by the national authority.

He convinced his doctor he needs it, then refused the TUE offered. A piece of paper that would put him in the all clear whatever happened.

Your story is riddled with holes and it's leaking heavily.

This is what I know and have heard from more than 1 person who is close to this athlete

Athlete purposely got doctor to prescribe a drug that he knew would enhance performance

Athlete decides not to PAY for a TUE as doesn't believe he will be tested

Athlete fails test in Belgium. Coach is contacted by uk Athletics and told they will not be pursuing it, athlete thrown out of group immediately by coach.

Athlete runs a pb.

Believe what you want but it's best this stuff is out in the open.
