Female Coach gives a man her bib at RNR Philly and he wins AG in her name

These are not mistakes. Jared Sweet has worn Samantha Sweet's timing chip on several occasions. Do your own research and you will see the exact same time for Jared and Samantha at least 5 races. 4 were Rock n Roll events. Jared has both his and her timing chips on. Do not know the motive but the results are undeniable.

I don't think he was wearing both timing chips. He was running together with Elvis (the bearded guy) who wore Samantha's bib; you can see that on some of the race photos.

On multiple occasions, though, so definitely not a one-time "error".

I can't imagine a track meet where a dispute ensues over who did or did not run a 2:30 800. That's more or less what a 1:30 HM is worth, about 50% slower than the world record.

If you run a 2:30 at a track meet, nobody notices, nobody cares, nothing significant happened, go home and rethink your training. Even for a woman or an age grouper.

How do road racers get so worked up about this shit is a question preceded only by why the hell would anyone bother to cheat in the first place. Who gives a rip if your former coach ran a 1:29? Who in their right mind is impressed even if it's legit?

The way to solve the intent piece would be to keep the thread alive until people coached by The Fraud chimed in. Were they operating under the belief that The Fraud was a 1:30 HM'er? Were the Fraud's fraudulent accomplishments marketed to people as authentic? She's not sorry for what she did, she's sorry she got caught.

did I think she was a 1:30 HM runner... well. She has told me she was fast i can't remember her citing a specific race time. I do know that when I saw this time posted in the results last sat I knew it was impossible. The part of the piece that I am stuck on. What made me post this whole thread in 2 different forums is that this woman

knew she would outrun a e previous client in this race. KNEW IT. and yet did it anyway. This client congratulated he via text. The coach acknowledged by sending a smiley face back. But didn't feel the need to explain or change the results even though she knew a man won the AG.

As for this not mattering because 1:30 is a slow time for a 45 year old woman? I guess I shouldn't bait the trolls. Kind of a bummer I was hoping the truth matters not playing verbal cat and mouse.

Not crazy fast but a very solid time. The results are for a 45 y/o Female running a 1:30:00 half.

Still never understood why people think cheating is no big deal. Why does the time create an acceptable arena for cheating. If someone cheats, grabs their finisher's medal and shuts up about it, whatever. Not sure of their motivation there. But if they cheat and win awards or cheat then hop on the ol' social network and brag about it, yeah, I'm in favor of bringing them down, especially chronic cheaters. And to have a job in the fitness industry and blatantly cheat, and cheat your clients out of recognition, well, that's just stupid.

Susanne, f the trolls, you did the right thing. There is no place for cheaters, whether its at a world record pace or just an average age grouper. The trolls need to check themselves.

I disagree with you - cheating and theft are cheating and theft. If I'm caught doing 45 in a 40MPH zone, I don't complain. Your thinking is why we have the government we do.

We're not talking about a 21 year old male, but a 45 year old woman. If you place in your age group in a race with many thousands of participants than that's a great accomplishment. Why is that so hard to figure out?

Analogy fail for two reasons. the first reason is that the only truth-seeking purpose for using analogies is to use something that is familiar to explain something that is unfamiliar. Unfortunately most people use analogies as power-plays: to shift the ground from an indefensible position to one that can be defended.

The second reason is that there are a lot of people who secretly pride themselves on never losing an argument. They are pretty good at constructing analogies that seem to capture the relevant similarities but actually tilt the ground in their favor. That is not the case here. This was just badly done.

Giving her bib to someone else is one thing (let's not get started on stupid bib transfer policies). But I think this should be on the guy who ran. Why didn't he immediately DQ himself?
