Thanks Genesee for soliciting feedback.
Certainly, for our Chattanooga Masters Club, the weekend after T'Giving would be better.

Pay attention (unless you are intentinally trying to be a smart ass. In which case, you got me.) There are only 2 choices.
1. Thanksgiving Weekend.
2. The weekend prior to Thanksgiving.
ah, i see you still don't get it. a fair number of people seem to think that the weekend AFTER thanksgiving is the best option for them and their club.
that weekend is not available. The USATF convention is that weekend. There I said it for all the idiots that did not read it the first 184 times it was written. Don't ask why, because that also has been discussed on this thread.

ok, enough yapping for today,
No shit, what did any of this really have to do with the response by "You're Missing Out, Too" (which I have, coincidentally enough, read) to SoCalPete's highhanded 'they're missing out because they don't share my correct and superior priorities' bit? It is the most self-righteous thing I think I've seen in this thread, and that's saying something.

If it's true that no "good post collegiate runners" are starting families, then I really feel for them. Unlike the stars of every other sport in America, they're missing out on a huge priority for the rest of us.
Have we been making any progress towards a final date yet?
Screw the east coast. If they don't have the foresight to schedule the meet at a convenient date, f*** 'em. West and midwest should put on their own meet the first week in dec. East coast can't compete with the them anyway.
It costs too much money to travel as a family. I chose to live on the west coast with all the beautiful people and then brag back to all those living in other areas of the country how much better life is here. Hell, sometimes I even believe it myself. I even like to brag about how important family is to me. Here comes the irony. It cost so god damn much to live out here that I can't afford to do anything with my family. Boo f***ing hoo.
"Actually, I often go to races, simply to spend time with family members (ones who don't exactly live nearby) and to take my family on mini-vacations."
I stand corrected, you're Mother f***ing Theresa incarnate.
"You're absolutely right. neither of my folks have a four year degree (mom has a JC degree). hell, i don't even have one.
my dad only makes low six figures, and i make slightly less than half of his income (from running). What losers. btw, how many people make over 1K/wk running? probably not you."
You blindly brought up the loser label, not I. I was just turning it back on the user, showing how ridiculous it is. I sure don't need to trot out my degree(s) or income level to prove anything. Besides, this wasn't about income, or is that the only way you know how to define your self-worth? If so, that's sad. On top of that, you're probably a liar.
"sorry, didn't mean to bag on them."
You sure didn't mean NOT to.
"I just look at myself, making less than 60K/yr running, and i wonder what the heck i'm still doing in the sport. then i look at the guy who's 33, not married, never held a decent job, and still half-heartedly trying to make it as a good runner, and i go "what are you doing, get on with life!!" no offence intended, i just have a different way of viewing how one should go about their responsibilities."
And people like 'him' probably look at you in your quest to be the best little worker ant that you can be and go "why are you wasting your life on acquiring shit and breeding? You can't take that 6-figure income (woo-hoo) with you!" You sure as hell didn't intend to not offend others, projecting your personal values upon them. He's not sitting around drunk or high, he's enjoying himself and isn't hurting anyone else, what business is it of yours, Mr. High-and-Mighty?
"actually, several people bagged him about comittment, love of the sport (i'm paraphrasing here, ok), etc. "
Really? Prove it with quotes and attributions. I'd say you're inferring, at best.
"actually, i don't drink (no, i'm not a mormon), pete can vouch for that (as he probably knows who i am)"
Christ, do you live at all? Not that I believe you.
"OK swinger, that's something like 4 or 5 strikes for you....i'd say you're out.....in left field. merry christmas, happy new year."
Still waiting for you to get one across the plate, soft-bellied yuppie, you're still dodging the fact that your crony displayed a sanctimonious attitude here. Just come correct and cop to it and we'll move on.
what's the deal? It's past the 1st.
Bro Bro
According the gvh's website, they have changed the date to Saturday, November 19th.

Really? ... more self-righteous than the dick-head who suggested that no good post-college runners were starting families or had any priorities outside running? See, what my response entailed was "sarcasm"--I know it's a tough word to understand, but see if you can't wrap your little mind around it. Or better yet, go back to college, take a reading comprehension course.
Personally, I don't give a damn what post-college runners (or in-college or pre-college runners) are doing on their own time. That's their business. God knows the life I've led leads no room for judging the lives of others.
But I am happy to hear that the date's been changed. My club will definitely be there now! Thanks GVH!
