I don't think that you or the other so-called Lydiardists on this message board understand Lydiard's philosophy. He didn't believe in drugs did he? He was right and you are wrong. How can I be naive when I am the one pointing this stuff out, and you are the one denying it? What I told you about the brain controlling both the supply and demand for oxygen for example. Who in the world of physiology is examining these facts? Who in the world of exercise physiology is even looking holistically at the subject? Almost no-one it's almost all reductionism, not holism. All your received wisdom is nothing but pseudoscience for this reason.

Can you or Nobby or Kelsall, even relate to these points? No, you just immediately dismiss them. I am not saying that Lydiardism is a cult, I am saying that almost everyone has this almost religiously dogmatic approach to the subject of so called 'Performance Enhancing Drugs' that is unquestioning belief. So who is naive?

Lydiard got this, you guys don't. You don't really understand or follow his philosophy. Whatever people say about his methods being outdated ignores his philosophy which is, was and always will be a truly enlightened understanding of athleticism and the psychology of sport.

Arthur never denied that PEDs work. Obviously you still need talent and good training. If you've got a quote from Arthur on the topic I'd be interested in seeing it, but he really was not paying detailed attention to the top level of the sport by the time EPO came along. Again, neither of us is going to change the other's mind so why bother with this?
