What the f*** is Kiprop doing?

I compare the effect of Kiprop's tactics to a closer in baseball with a man on base. Many closers now ignore the man on base and focus on the batter. But many pitchers have a divided focus, knowing that runner is back there and not knowing what is going on.

At the WC, if Souleiman is in the top three and Kiprop is somewhere behind him, what do you think is in his head..."Where's Kiprop?" Kiprop can control and dominate the race from the back because now he is the focus and no one knows how he will try to win. Great runners can do this...Lagat did it all the time. There is an inertia or inevitability to his running right now like we saw in Rudisha in 2012. But unlike Rudisha, no one knows how he will do it.

Any guesses?

He got clipped from behind more than once and the final heel clip probably just pissed him off and went to the back and then stomped them all. I saw nothing wrong with what he did if you look at the reply carefully. He wasn't showboating and there wasn't bad sportsmanship from my point of view.

Tripping wasn't part of the plan, but he did intend to let the pace lag to simulate a championship scenario. no need for getting testy.

It is interesting that he went BACK when clipped...most guys get pissed and break out or accelerate. He seemed to just say "OK, no big, I'll just chill at the back and see you guys later." Complete mental and physical domination.
