I agree with JR. Adrenalin is the real performance enhancer. It increases both oxygen uptake and economy. Why does everyone ignore this?

I believe that the so called 'performance enhancing' effects of whatever dope you care to mention are really just the measured effects of adrenalin.

Your first reaction might be to dismiss this, but you really need to give it some serious thought over a long period of time.

You believe it but you can't provide any credible links for us to "really give it serious thought over a long period of time" so there's your answer to "Why does everyone ignore this?".

Incidentally, over a long period of time I've given a lot of thought to there being fairies at the bottom of my garden and I believe there are.

There have been studies that show a placebo, if given in the right environment, can give a performance enhancing effect:

But there's also statistical comparisons in power lifting (where there are drugged and clean leagues) that show a fairly significant performance enhancing (and long lasting) effect:

WC and OG should be organized by independent entities with no state or political ties. The whole idea of nationalism makes me sick; it is over-used, mis-played, and contributes to fascism and slavery.

National/government controls are limited by the desire to please their overlords. Let the various athletic leagues and various independent organizations seek out their own means and methods of establishing the level of clean sport that their fans/consumers seek. And if the controls are not effective the league can remove them [controls] and seek out (hire/contract) with another group that promises better results. Right now WADA and each national control group has an almost (complete?) monopoly over who can participate in athletics. Of course, we are going to see corruption involved.

Let the market clean the sport. Unfortunately, you will have some leagues/sports that are cleaner than others. And maybe the less clean ones will make more money; fine. Then each fan and competitor can choose what they prefer more: values and purity, or fame and money.

But then when everyone wants their cake and eat it too, I doubt any of this will happen...

Singling out Kenyans and Russians like it looks like they are cherry picking countries. If you are going to do them, you have to do it for all the big players to get a \"unbiased\" reporting.

For all we know, all these other countries have problems too! Even the Kenyans are implicating the Americans during the reporting.

America has a highly investigative mass media, 10s of thousands of reporters are constantly looking for a story. If there was some mass state sponsored doping program in the U.S., there are reporters out there who would willing to cut off an inch to break that story. Even this website is constantly on the lookout for dopers. I can't say the same for no other country.

I have said for years that the entire Russian RW program was suspect. The average age of a world class race walker is early 30s and walkers rarely come from out of nowhere. (Walkers are not born, they are made.) Russia has had a slew successful walkers in their early 20s, whose performances were almost entirely in Russia and then win global championship medals.
