I was surprised by the claim that she was fresh as a daisy after 3000 meter world record. She was winded and all out unable to remove her shoes.

Well, like the person with the 100th post, I haven't had a solid PR run that didn't feel easy despite the effort. That includes the end of the run. The hard efforts that are really painful and feel like crap are relatively slow.

what is it with you guys and feeling good during/after PRs?

maybe I'm just a try hard, but my 1:51 800 PR was the most brutal 111 seconds of my entire life (don't even wanna think about the last 100m), and after the race was done I collapsed on the track and couldn't get up for 5 minutes.

same thing for my 1500

Worth noting that all three Chinese athletes ahead of her on the all-time list ran their times at the same meet (the infamous 1993 Chinese national games).

So:

(1) this performance is the true world record, AND

(2) she's a doper.

Wang didn't burn out, her training group disbanded, there were difficulties with the coach, she trained for the Olympics on her own, received death threats to her family if she competed, had considerable stress and still got gold and silver in Atlanta after all that.

Wang Junxia was the greatest woman runner of all time. It's too bad about all the hysteria as it hurt women's running the most. I'm glad to see runners like Wang and Dibaba who are pushing through the barriers.

Maybe she's an Eamonn Coghlan type where she's just better at indoors.

The guys on here are jealous because a very sexy Ethiopian woman has reached levels of running 98% of the posters will never see in their own running.

I agree, upper body of distance runner, lower explosiveness of a sprinter, sort of like Bekele.

No, I was referring to the short track in Beijing that was conveniently ripped up after the 94 Chinese Champs.

I doubt O'Sullivan was any cleaner than Szabo.

pretty much. Different letsrun logics:

1. If you cant pr, you are washed up.

2. If you arent near the american or world record, you suck.

3. If you pr by too much, you are doped.

4. If you set a record and look good afterward, you are doped.

5. If you are anything but American, you are doped.

6. If you are now american but once ran for another country (lagat), you are doped.

Etc, etc...

I was completely exhausted after each of my lifetime PRs, from 400m up to the half marathon. Couldn't talk for several minutes, and either laid in the grass immediately after or slumped on the fence. There wasn't any warmdown after those efforts; I couldn't run another step. Just a slow hobble to the parking lot in each case, after which I was completely done for the day.

This woman looked like she could have kept banging out 33 second laps, for a final 5000 meter time under 14 minutes. So no, I do not buy at all, for one second, that this woman is clean.

This is one of the sweetest conundrums in track history:

Pros:

-Perfect pedigree

-"Found her event(s)"

-From a country with few positive tests at the upper levels

-Cute as a button, great running form

Cons:

-Started training with a coach already under suspicion in many quarters

-Demolished a solid record set by one of her legendary countrywomen by 7 seconds

-Runs times that vault her into the company of runners almost certainly were 99% dopers

Oh, the sweet, torturous drama! Will one of Aden's group get busted, fanning the flames? Who will follow her into this group, and experience a similar breakthrough? Have the Ethiopians, long kept out of doping suspicion limelight, now come under more scrutiny?

is she doped? who knows, but i'll give her the benefit of the doubt based on her progression, family, and the fact she just broke a wr that is not on the olympic program.

the chinese runners records all about endurance !!! ,

and had to use epo and then transfuse blood to get

hematocrit way up there .epo alone wont do that for

women ,perfect for training though.

just like paula learned lated in career ,epo is not

enough for us girls .

maybe why africans that more likely to only use epo

struggled to get near these records.

this record all about speed with obvious good endurance.

she is taller than previous two women defar and sister.

the lightness will put that height to good use and

extra strength ,form without effecting endurance .

all bolt like excuses coming out about ,always good ,

injury problems ,genetics .

she had afew good years to do it before now ,why not..

and bolt knowes all about THE LIGHTNESS.
