BS does not mean you majored in a science, it means you met the requirement for mathematical profiency. All it means is you passed calculus, or even just algebra.
BS = math
BA = language
the requirements for both are absurdly easy so neither one has anything to do with your major, nor is there any reason they would impress an employer in a science-related field. You're not a scientist just for passing algebra at some diploma mill.
Your major and your transcripts are what's important. BA vs BS is irrelevant.
