This year...still too early to tell, but most likely guess is that Rupp is a year or two behind Farah.
I think coach renato nailed it with the quote of the day regarding rupp. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see bekele up a couple notches in London, but I am also sure rupp and farah have another notch. They didn't back off for this race because they don't have to yet. Rupp will back down a bit for trials, but not as much as most will. He never has backed off much for qualifying races because the eye was always focused on the future prize. That prize is finally here.
There are no guarantees of the outcome in london, but the plan and journey that he and Salazar have been on has been an unwavering, determined, committed, success. Spot on.

Rupp is pretty damn impressive and he did actually hold his own kicking in the last 180. He couldn't respond to the Mo move, but once he got away Galen was able to keep up with his pace at the end.

Rupp is past his training curve , he is in a racing mode close to starting a slow taper going into the trials. Today he raced a world class field , ran smart , great finish with a world class time. If makes the team , he will go back into a short training mode to add some strength for the rounds at the games , running two sharpening races prior to games.
Go watch the in depth post race interview with Rupp at Flotrack.
They are still building strength and training at altitude.
No bro, I dont have any respect for rupper. He is the only runner I truly dislike, I support all other American runners including all the oregon guys and webb. That being said Rupp is just a little dweeb who has never impressed me. I'm not saying sub 13 isnt awesome, I'll never run nearly that fast but he just is not a tough runner, lacks the killing instinct to win and is a the little pet project of salazar and nike who has been given everything possibly imaginable in order to succeed. He has earned nothing for himself that hasnt been given to him.
